Cancellation policy???

While at WDW in Feb. DB#1 and I made ressies for Christmas for our whole family (6 rooms). We put 3 deposits on his CC and 3 on mine. Well, the people who I have deposits (DB#2 and family) for are not going with us and I tried to cancel them yesterday......but Disney won't let me cancel cause they're in someone else's name even though I made them and put the deposit down!!! Does anyone know if that is the correct policy? I'm going to call back today and try to cancel again.

This whole trip is causing some family problems, and I dread asking DB#2 to cancel a ressie he never made for a trip he'd love to go on, but can't.

Don't use the 800 number and use the * command to block your number from being displayed. I don't really blame disney since neither the reservation nor the cc is in your name.

Even if they use caller ID, I don't think they'd make you call from the same number each time. I've called and made changes from work. Whoever calls will have to be comfortable saying that they're someone they're not if they happen to ask, but they shouldn't push the issue.

I call and make changes to DH's accounts all the time. His real name is Christopher, but fortunately, he goes by Chris, which can also be short for Christie. They do usually ask, since Chris is a little more common for men, but once I say that's who I am, they let it go.
