Cancellation Policy

What is cancellation policy once you have booked a room with your points? (we are not DVC memebers but gathering info, I am not referring to if you rented points from someone---cancelling that is just crappy)
 
If you cancel your reservation at least 31 days prior to scheduled arrival, the points return to normal status within the current use year. Any borrowed or banked points used for the ressie are not "unborrowed or unbanked," they remain a part of the current use year.

If you cancel 30 days to 1 day prior to scheduled arrival, all points go into a holding account and can only be used for reservations booked 60 days or less prior to arrival. Holding account points may not be banked, and will expire at the end of the current use year.

If you cancel on your scheduled arrival day, all points are considered "used" and are lost.
 
Thanks Chuck. We are travelling with friends who are DVC and they are having some extended family issues right now. We are just fine if the trip gets cancelled (I mean who doesnt want to go to Disney, but their family is much more important than a vacation). We just wanted to be knowledgeble about when they could wait till to decide that and we did not want to ask them as that might seem insensitive. We go in about 6 weeks. We have not told our child we are going as I think that will make it easier if we are unable to travel. Thanks again.
