Went to Disneyland today to Celebrate Happy for the 70th Anniversary! It sure was crowded!

We decided to go to Tommorowland and tell them we were new members and ask if we could check out the Starview Station lounge and if we could get any swaggy. To my surprise, they said yes! The lounge was nice, lots of room. I didn't know there was an outdoor section that you could people watch, I really liked that.

My wife was impressed that it was so hidden and asked me how everyone knows about this. I told her when we're paying this much we need to get whatever we can 🤣🤣 We chilled for a little bit, I liked that they had coffee that would be great in the morning, but I was happy that this wasn't enough to convince me towards direct. If anything I thought well now I got this out of my system and can move on, jokes on them lol. BUT then a guide came up and asked if we wanted to tour a model 1 bedroom of Villas at Disneyland hotel. "Sure," I said.

We got up and went and sadly I FELL IN LOVE lmaooo. I dont know if it was the lighting or what, but man that room was gorgeous! I loved the bathroom and the bedroom with the artwork looked dreamy. The pictures online definetely dont do it justice imo. Even big Tiana didnt bother me lol. So yeah, in conclusion, jokes on me because THEY GOT ME damnitt!!!! 🤣🤣 My wife saw how happy I looked and gave me the green light to buy direct once we pay off our third resale later this year, I just can't escape the inevitable anymore 🤣🤣 They didnt really have swag we got some PIT artwork and a copy of the Disney files which I was happy with because they never mailed it to me for whatever reason.

We ended up going downstairs and ordering the DVC pizza combo. The salad was really good and the artisan pizza is definetely a step up from Pizza Planet especially because they have to make it fresh when you order it. The tiramisu I could do without but tiramisu has never been my favorite. I think the cast member was confused with the ap combo because she insisted that we get a free large drink too. I wasnt complaining. All in all was a great day! I'm so happy we are staying at Riviera and PIT this September to narrow down where our new home will be!

I’m happy they let you go up and check it out. For me the lounge really shines when it’s hot and you are tired and need to pee. There was just something about using the bathroom without screaming kids and funky smells that made me feel special 🤣

Happy you liked VDH. The poly tower rooms are almost identical theming aside.

That sounds great! I only visited the lounge when it was new. I haven't had a reason to return, but the outside area wasn't available when I was there. VDH was still being built and there were no tours of rooms. I might have to visit if they are giving tours of the one bedroom units + it sounds like the outdoor part might be a peaceful place to have a meal.

It sounds like you have a good amount of time to research and choose your direct resort. Are you leaning towards any particular one (s)?

Ugh getting rid of the funky smell alone is woth $30,000 🤣🤣 my wife and I always talk about the poor ventilation in the bathrooms and seems like they just throw some type of deodorizer in the air which does NOT help lol its pretty nasty. I like this themeing more than poly tower it def screams Disney where pit is more subtle.

Yes i didnt know it, but they have a 1 bedroom villa model right there when you go to the lounge! I love touring rooms so that was a nice surprise. The indoor area was more popular people were waiting for it, but i liked the outdoor area too.

It made sense to me why it closes at 6 pm because its the same area that they have the fireworks dessert party so they rearrange the chairs for that for later in the night.

So we are staying in a 2 bedroom pit room and a riv 2 bedroom back to back in September. I think that's really going to give us the ultimate feel of both rooms. It will Def be one of those two.

I was secretly hoping to like Poly better because I am not a fan of restrictions lowering resale pricing and all of our other contracts are expiring by 2060 so we really dont need a longer 2070 one.

However, I did tour both when we were in Florida and I liked riv better. It's just so hard because I would totally buy poly and just book riv whenever, but I worry about the availability of riv once there's a bunch of resale owners in the mix. I think the buy where you want to stay is really going to be what we go with. I also know that actually staying at a resort and seeing how it runs can change your opinion of it, but the fact that Riviera is compact with skyliner and we own an akv and monorail resort already I can almost guarantee its going to take the cake.

I am on the lookout for any last minute blowout sales lol. I know it has about two years left before it sells out and 1-2 years from now is the perfect time frame for us. But if some really hot incentive comes up before I will jump.
