Cancellation/ADR change ?

I know you have to cancel by midnight the night before your reservation. I have read that if you are within that 24 hour period you can choose to edit the reservation for a later date without a charge. I'm trying to get 'Ohana and will keep trying up to the day before, what I was wondering is if one pops up on the day of can I take it as an "edit" to my alternate reservation from a different restaurant and not get charged?

I don’t think the search feature alternates between reservations so you most likely will be charged (can’t change if you can’t search for an alternative restaurant when you modify reservation). I’ve never tried changing the reservation. It might not work for high demand restaurants ( no availability in the future), maybe someone else can chime in.

I've never modified a reservation before, so when you try to modify it will only let you stick with the same restaurant for just a different time/date?

Yes a modification will only let you change time and date so you would end up probably digging around for 20-30 minutes before you found something I would bet, for extremely hard to get ones anyway.

Thank you! I guess I'll hold out hope up to midnight 10/15 and then give up!
