ok well i have never cancelled a trip to disney but this time it must be done..hubby and i are a separating and i just cant go to disney spend lots of money and pretend to be happy...so my question is does disney refund your full amount back ?? we werent due to go till the end of next month...

I'm not sure about the refund, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your separation (and the cancellation of your trip). :grouphug:

thank you...i am ok...its going to be an adjustment but i am the one doing this...i gotta stay strong for my kids and make them both see that we can still be a family and not live in the same home with daddy....all will work out one way or another..

Did you book a package? If so, there is a cancellation fee under 45 days, I think $100. If you have airfare, it may be non-refundable.

Sorry to hear about your separation. My DH and I separated just recently as well. One of the first things I did though was to book a trip to WDW. Not because I want to pretend to be happy, but because it is there that I smile the most and go for refuge from the "real" world. When things get really stressful I go to WDW. So obviously this solo trip is not going to be a joyful romantic share-all-things trip for me, but I believe it will be a time to find myself and my inner serenity - to smile at the children - to pick up dropped toys for frazzled Moms - to enjoy the little ones with the characters - and to ride the rides faster than ever before by using the single lines and FP.

Breaking up is really hard and painful, but it can also be a time of renewal and introspection. Of refinding what it is that is especially important to you yourself rather than you as part of a couple. Of healing and growing and reconnecting the the other parts of your life that bring you happiness.

I wish you the best. God has many plans for us - I am sure He has better plans for you in the future.

I'm not sure if you will get penalized or not for cancelling. It depends I think of if you had a package and what the cancellation policy is on it. A regular room only ressie can be easily cancelled up to a few days before the trip.

Sorry for what you are going through. Whether you initiated it or not, it is no fun.

If you have tickets on Southwest, you will be able to use them again as long as you do it within 1 year.
Disney will refund your resort deposit no problem as you are cancelling before the 5 day cutoff.
Any tickets that you may have bought to get into the parks (well, it will vary depending on what ticket package you bought)

I'm sorry for what you are going through. I can relate.

cyndibelle: :grouphug: for what you are currently going through..as far as disney...I am not sure...but like redbudlover said..maybe a trip to disney (where it is already set) might be the best thing for you and the kids. Give it some thought before you cancel everything. How old are the kids? Were they planning this as well? Won't they be horribly disappointed between the issues with you and DH and now canceling the trip?

Best of luck, cyndibelle, with whatever decisions you make.
