Canceling Question

I'm a fairly new member and need some help.

I borrowed 10 points from a future year to make a reservation in March 2012. I am going to have to cancel that reservation and make a new one for a different month. My new reservation is going to be less points than the original. I know that I HAVE to use the borrowed points as I cannot bank them. Can I bank some of the other points from the original use year instead? That way I wouldn't lose any points?

When you call MS to change your reservation, they should use your borrowed points first then your current points which you could later bank. I would definitely ask to make sure that is what they did, though, because that doesn't always happen.

If you have 10 pointed borrowed, you would want to use them first and them bank what you have left to next year. That is assuming you have not reached your banking wndown for your current use year.

Unlike transfers from other members (limited to one in or out a use year).

Borrowing and banking is "just" one time per year for every individual point on your account. So yes you could borrow 2013 points "A B and C"(just to give them names) from 2013 then bank 2012 points A B and C into 2013. If you really wanted you could call and bank one 2012 point. Call tomorrow and bank one more point.... (But please don't, MS costs are in our dues )
