Canceling...how long to get deposit back

I am 95% sure I am going to cancel at least one of my Dream cruises for next year, maybe both. How long does it take to get deposits put back on the CC when that happens? I would be booking something else non-Disney.

Direct from Disney (no travel agent) about 3 days.

Why would a travel agent add time? They call and cancel the same way or cancel in the Disney reservation system?

I've cancelled lots of cruises direct through dcl and Costco. 3-4 business days is the usually time frame.

I cancelled using a travel agent. She gave me the estimate of 7 - 10 business days before I would see the refund on my original form of payment. It appeared exactly after 10 business days.

This may be a longer time than usual. My original form of payment was a credit card. That number was stolen. That may have caused a delay because while it was still going to the same back, the credit card number was different.

Oh yes, I can see that delaying ..otherwise there should be no difference in refund time.

I have cancelled using a TA and got my money back within two business days.

My TA also had success to directly transfer funds from the cancelled cruise to a different reservation I had. I preferred this due to foreign currency charges that apply to me (my credit card is billed in Euros as I live in Europe). However, she said sometimes CMs claim that this is technically impossible, but others then can do it wihtout any problem. Seems to be a training issue.
