Canceling Excursions

We have two excursions booked where we could only get 2/3 of us booked for it based on availability. How far in advance in advance do I have to cancel these? I want to keep checking to see if I can book the third person - but if I cannot get the excursion for all of us I will want to cancel.

Any tips on how to do all of this are appreciated :-)

Usually it is 24 hours (so could cancel on the ship) but I don't know if certain excursions may have any longer cancellation period. At the least, you should be able to cancel until 3 days prior to sailing but I think it is less time than that. Look on the DCL site at the port adventures you have booked (ooutside of your reservation - where they show you port excursions) and you should be able to see it there.

I stand corrected. This is a quote directly from the DCL website on Port Excursions booked through them.

"All prices are subject to change without notice. Cancellations can be made up to 3 days prior to the cruise departure date, unless otherwise noted on the specific activity. After that time all reservations are final and non-refundable."

I was just on the phone complaining about my cancelled excursion and trying to get a replacement. She said we had to cancel 3 days before sailing (so I can't keep my alternate booking and then switch if there is availability on the ship) - which really sucks. :furious:

Yes that really does suck! You can book onboard the ship so I wonder what happens in that scenario?

So I could cancel everything and roll the dice on the ship that we could at least get something. I'm not sure I want to chance it though. I'll just check the website every day for the next week and see if I have any luck.

You could but I would not want to chance it. I would keep checking and hope you get one and then try to get a different one on the ship. Have you looked into private excursions doing what you want, like a viator or shore excursion group or a local company doing the same thing? We have had some luck that way getting into excusions that DCL said were sold out. Sometimes there are minor differences but usually always a little cheaper also. Just have to watch the times carefully so that you have enough time to get off and get back on the ship.

I have looked around, but I really wanted to do a photo tour. And there don’t seem to be a lot of options other than the tour provider that Disney uses. Plenty of similar tours, but not with photographers assisting.
