What is the latest you can cancel a reservation without being charged? TIA

The day before. However you can modify your reservation on the day it occurs to a later date and then cancel.

Yes, this works well unless you have a impossible-to-get reservation like Topolino's, Beaches and Cream, etc.

If you are in the park, you can ask at the blue umbrellas and they can cancel for you day of. Or if you are near actual restaurant, just walk up to the hostess stand and tell them you changed your mind. They'll "walk it away," whatever that means, and you won't be charged.

Yep, this is true. Sometimes I'll take a quick look at http://mousedining.com/ and see if I can find an opening and then try moving it to that when it is one of those tough ones.

When I was there in April, I tried to cancel the night before and got a message that I had to call because it was less than 24 hours. I was able to change my reservation to a later day and time (now more than 24 hours) and then cancel.
