Cancel & Rebook help needed.

Currently, I have a MYW package that includes a one night stay at All Star Sports and three 6 day hopper passes. The balance of our stay is rented DVC.

I found out today that my son-in-law was given six - 1 day hopper passes from a family member.

The way I understand it, I will have to cancel my current reservation and rebook a room only and purchase two 6 day hopper passes separately.

The final payment was due today and I want to make sure that I do not mess this up.

Is there any way to do this easily?

Any and all advice is appreciated.

There are a few things you could do. You could cancel the package, re-book ASSp as a room-only and purchase the two 6 day park hoppers separately. Alternatively, you could take your son-in-law temporarily off the reservation, leaving two people in the room with 2, 6 day park hoppers. You could then add him back on to the reservation when you check into ASSp.

If you go the room-only route, I would book that first, buy the 2, 6 day hoppers, link them to MDE and THEN cancel the package. I'm concerned you would lose any FP+ reservations if you cancel the package first and then book the room and buy the tickets.

If you decide to keep the package, but temporarily take your son-in-law off, I would link his 6 tickets onto MDE before you make the change to try to avoid losing any of his FP+. Also, if you take him off the room temporarily, he won't have Magical Express privileges from airport to resort until after you add him at check-in.

Last option, leave it as is and save the 6, 1 day hoppers for another visit.

Saving the tickets for another visit won't work because this is our last trip for awhile and we won't have a car so we need Magical Express.

So our only option is to book a room only reservation and cancel the package. A little bit of a pain but overall it will be worth it for the savings.

Are you inside 45 days of your arrival? You'll end up with a cancellation fee if you are. Is there any reason why only your son can use these tickets? Could they be shared amongst the 3 of you, and then you could modify your existing reservation to 4 day tickets each? And keep your existing package.

An exceptional cast member sprinkled a little pixie dust on our trip today. We were able to drop our tickets and keep our existing reservation without any penalties. Now I am patiently waiting for the credits to hit my gift cards to repurchase our tickets.
