Please use your right to vote in the Federal election on Monday, May 2nd. It's one of the greatest privileges to live in as great a democracy as ours, so please make the effort.

Remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain afterwards.

Agreed last election in my area was decided by 17 votes. Every vote does count.

I agree. We must show our politicians that they are accountable for the decisions they make. Just vote.

Is it true that in order to vote in Canada you have to chug a glass of maple syrup first?

...only if you eat a plate of poutine with it. :lmao:

On a more sober note, I'm annoyed to hear the news reports of some voters getting bogus calls that their polling location has changed. Reprehensible...

Nah, we just drink a Moosehead or two once we see which idiot one. Of course we check the results during the intermission of a hockey game. :)

I'm a youngster who has yet to vote (previously didn't care! :rolleyes1) Bad me. I'm changing that this year and getting out to vote!

Voting after work today, then the waiting begins.

It's not the shovelling the snow to open the polling station door that's a pain it's ... the blackflies and polar bears!

I voted and it only took all of about 10 minutes of my day...not sure if I will stay up to see the result or find out in the morning.

I always vote about one hour after the polls open. That way I can be after the seniors who were waiting for the doors to open, and the sahms who have just gotten their kids off to school. No waiting, marked my X, and another couple of years with the right to complain!

The polls have just closed here. Wish us good luck!:wizard:

I voted as well...

But I must say, I'm pretty sure you still can complain even if you don't vote, in fact I know lot's of people who do. ;)

This is just a friendly reminder that the discussion of politics - in any form - is not considered to be acceptable according to DIS Posting Guidelines. I am going to close this thread as a result.
