Canadians and annual passes?

Hi all!

Do any of you have annual passes? Since magic bands were introduced, we've had 2 annual passes. The first year, we had our annual pass magic bands delivered to Caribbean Beach Resort and it worked fine. For our second annual pass, we had our magic bands delivered to Coronado Springs Resort and they got lost in the mail/delivery and we never did get them. We are just about due to renew our annual passes and we are staying at Coronado Springs again. I'm afraid to get our annual pass magic bands delivered to CSR again. Where do you guys get your annual pass bands mailed to when you have annual passes?

If your not in the US they will go to the resort. Last time might have been a glitch, never had an issue. Good luck

We are on our third set of AP's since magic bands were introduced. We don't ever bother to customize our AP magic bands. I have enough of them already through my resort stays.

We always pick up our bands at the resort but we purchase our annual passes at Guest Services. We then link our annual passes to our M.B.'s

Do you still get the annual pass sliders? We totally don't need to keep getting new bands, but I'm a big kid and love the sliders.

If you mean the little slip ons that slide on from one side of the band, that DVC supplied one year, we haven't received those in 3 or 4 years. And we make numerous trips per year.

The sliders I'm referring to are specifically for passholders. The sliders come with the annual pass magic bands. Each year, the slider is a different colour and it says 'passholders' followed by the year on it. We got them two years ago. Last year when our bands got lost in the mail, we had to hunt the sliders down from guest services at the Magic Kingdom, but finally got the sliders (not the bands). I was hoping to avoid that this year, and just get them shipped with the bands to our hotel, but I'm worried about them getting lost in the mail again.

Hmmm. Never heard of those. And we have been annual pass holders for at least 10 years. Going down next month, I'll ask.

Yes, definitely get the sliders when you renew next. It's a fun little extra thing. They come with the annual pass magic bands, or you can pick them up at guest relations at the theme parks (when you prove you have annual passes by scanning an old magic band). We had to explain our situation to the manager on duty which was a bit of a pain though. I think we'll try to get our new AP bands shipped to CSR and just hope that last year was just a fluke with them getting lost in the mail. The sliders are in the same box as the AP magic bands. There is no need to get new bands with your AP renewal or every trip. When you book a reservation, just decline the new bands that would be issued in your MDE account. Once you buy the AP, you will be able to link them to your MDE account and thus the bands you already have will have the update AP on them.

Very true! We always decline the hotel magic bands now, but I still get the AP bands so we can get the AP sliders. Thanks!

I always wondered why they could not ship MBs to Canada. I never did ask. To answer the question, Canadians can only get them shipped to a resort. I think I have had 3 APs since MBs were introduced and never had an issue getting them at the resort at check in.

I know why they can't ship them .... those poor little things don't have passports (sorry couldn't resist a bit of humour)

I expect that it has something to do with the government certification you need to get for RFID devices. Disney submits their devices for certification to the FCC and if they shipped them to Canada they'd likely have to also get CRTC (the Canadian equivalent agency) certification.

That makes perfect sense - I had never thought about that part!
