There was a mention of Christmas period 2018 blockout date in the messages here. However, I could not find it. Has that been changed since the ticket sale announcement? Or it's hidden somewhere that I cannot find? Can someone help me to confirm it either way? Thanks.

Just look under "Special Offers" and you'll see:

I see. Well, I think Disney will get a lot of unhappy customers. That blockout restriction is only found in that advertising screen. If you have a My Disney Experience account and access the purchase page directly from your MDE menu, you will be brought to quantity selection page directly. There is no blockout mentioned there at all. I did not complete the purchase so I cannot be sure if they mention it eventually at CC payment page. But I almost went ahead today because I saw no mentioning of that blockout on the purchase site. Then I remember this forum discussion. If it was not because I read about it here, I would have been very unpleasantly surprised by these expiring non-refundable non-transferrable tickets, don't you think?

I'm sure some people will be unpleasantly surprised when they arrive at Xmas. However, the blockout dates are listed.

Although the tickets expire and do have the blockout dates, Disney will still always honour the original price you paid for the tickets towards the purchase of new tickets. So if you made that mistake, you would just have to purchase new tickets when you arrive (at full price however).
