Canadian travellers and booking a cruise

Hi there


We made an error and did not book on board. We travelled with Air Canada vacations this last time and I was wondering if we should again book via a Canadian travel agent or should we try with Dreams Unlimited?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated..

And is it my imagination or have the prices jumped substantially...

I don't think it's your imagination, prices have risen significantly. The drawbacks of an inelastic demand curve....

Anyway, why not get a quote from both Dreams and your former travel agent and compare prices? There's no cost for them to give you a quote. Shop around for the best deal.

Hi, We have just booked our third Disney cruise. We were living in the US for the first two and used DU. We decided to stick with DU since their service is so wonderfull. We will book our own airfare separately and fly down a day ahead.

We booked our last cruise through a travel agent and was happy. Our next cruise we booked through DU, and so far have been pleased. I think DU prices are much better than Air Canada Vacations. I find with Air Canada Vacations you are locked in at a Canadian rate, and with the way our dollar keeps rising (now at .71), I'd rather stay with the US price and have more control. For example, if the dollar starts to go down, I plan to pay a good portion of our cruise. I also like the fact that I can look at our reservation on line at any time, to see if any changes have occured. Hope that helps!

Hi Vivig:
We went with Air Canada Vacations the last time too but got quotes for our upcoming cruise from Dreams Unlimited and All Seasons Travel. I think both would do a great job and no problems with being in Canada with either. I found for all dates that All Season's was over $300 cheaper for 2 adults and one child. Get a quote from both and then make your decision.
As I say from all the info on these forums both do a great job and I was very impressed with Chuck Maida at All Seasons who I dealt with.

I got a price from several travel agents over my last two trips.. and for this upcoming trip too. DU gave me the best price.. and DEFINITELY the best service of any of them.

I highly recommend them.

Vivig - I've just booked through DU and have been impressed with their quick service. I only booked the cruise part as I'm probably going to drive to Buffalo for the flight to Orlando....typically huge savings, even with the exchange, to fly Southwest out of Buffalo vs using Air Canada from Toronto.
