Planning a trip in December 2018. I want to buy the Canadian tickets and then book the hotel (AoA) separate obviously since I cant put the discounted tickets on as a package deal

will I be able to link it all up so I can still make my fast passes at 60 days out, get magic bands and customize them ect?

Not sure how it works if I am book separately but all through Disney

That’s exactly what I did. I booked my hotel first and then purchased the Canadian resident tickets. Everything automatically linked up in MDE.

That's what we did this year staying at POP. Once you link your resort reservation to your MDE account you can add the tickets using the media number that's included in the confirmation of purchase email and easy peasy, Bob's your uncle!

It’s interestng that you had to manually link everything. My tickets and resort booking both just automatically showed up in MDE. Did you book everything right through Disney?

I booked my room only res through Dreams Unlimited. You're right that my tickets showed up automatically because I did by them through Disney after signing in to my MDE account. I bought the tickets a few months before I actually booked the room.

Perks like magic bands and FP+ at 60 days are onsite perks. It doesn't matter if you have regular or Canadian tickets. If you want the dining plan, you need to book a ticketless package directly on the phone with Disney (cannot be done online). If you only want a room-only reservation, you can book through Disney, a TA or website like Expedia. I personally prefer booking my WDW trips myself because when you reserve with a TA, the reservation is owned by that TA and you need to go through them for any modification.
