So I ordered 8 tickets with the canadian resident discount. one for myself, my wife, my 3 kids, my mom, my dad, and my sister in law. The first 7 tickets are all going to be used in 2018, we all share the same last name. The last ticket is for my sister in law for a 2020 trip, she has a different last name. I received all 8 exchange vouchers in the mail today. All of them have my last name them, no way to differentiate which one is assigned to my sister in law. I thought maybe I had to assign each one to a person, so I went into mde to do that, but when I entered the code, it stated "this ticket is already assigned to someone", but wouldn't say who. How in the world do I determine which one is my sister in laws, and for that matter which of the other 7 are for which person?

As the person with their name on the ticket, you may reassign it to someone else. This can be done in MDE.

I got ours yesterday too. I am not planning to add mine to MDE at present. We are going to Disney in August (but not using these tickets) and plan to show our passports to exchange them for actual tickets. We'll see if they make us add them to MDE then or if I can continue to keep them separate.

Can you report back on how this goes. I'd like to do this too.

That's not what the OP is asking.

He/she is asking if they have 8 exchange certificates in hand, and are going on a trip where they will use 7 of them, how does one know which 7 to take?

Imagine you've booked fastpasses for each of the 7 members of your group.
How would you know which exchange certificate is for which person?
Which is the one left-over certificate that has no fastpasses, that you want to save for next time?

I'll report back :) We'll see how this one goes.

OP - from what I understand, the exchange vouchers just have the purchaser's name on it. I was told when I go to pick mine up, I will have to show the original CC used to purchase them (that said - this was when I was told they couldn't be shipped to me. I might get to bypass this step). Don't forget, you still have to show your Cdn passports before first use.

I'd suggest:
1. go into your MDE and see what tickets are assigned to your name. Are any of the 8 exchange vouchers already in your name?
2. If so, make sure everyone is linked in your MDE. Then you should be able to go to each individual ticket and reassign them.
3. If the vouchers are not already under your name, then you should be able to just link them to each individual person.

If all else fails, I'd call Disney ticketing.

We were actually told you did not need the credit card....

I love how cast members have different answers. We asked as were buying a gift and we would not be there with them.

I'm not the OP but I'm having the same issue.

The problem isn't re-assigning tickets. That's easy to do.

The problem is knowing which voucher corresponds to which ticket.

If the OP bought a bunch of tickets, one of which is for his/her sister-in-law, there seems to be no way to know which voucher is for the sister-in-law, if she decides to go to Disney World. While all the vouchers have a unique ID number, there's no way to see which person that ID number is linked to.

Being able to reassign tickets has nothing to do with it.

A call to Disney will probably be necessary.

UGH - that does sound like a pain. I had thought you have to input the voucher ID number to each person to "assign" the ticket. But I haven't assigned my vouchers to any person yet nor have I matched it up to my MDE. I'm definitely going to pay attention to this one.

My interpretation of what elaine amj said is that all 8 vouchers will currently have the purchasers (MDH) name on them. If that's the case you just need to set everyone up in MDE and reassign the tickets from MDH to individual family members. The SIL can have her ticket assigned to her name if she links into MDH's MDE. Sorry for all the acronyms.

elaine amj was typing as I was so "Maybe not". Call Disney!

edit to add: by ticket I meant to say Voucher. SIL will have to have her voucher turned into a ticket when she visits.

Typical Disney with their multiple different answers. I hope we remember that particular CC in August, just in case! My guess is - won't need them since our vouchers were mailed to us. Initially, all we had was a verbal confirmation number and were told we would receive nothing else. Verifying the CC made sense for that.

We did have anything shipped to us, we have email confirmations, with barcodes attached, we were told to bring those with our passports. We are going down in Sep/Oct, we will be on a cruise when DF arrives I just forwarded him the email.

Did they charge you to ship the vouchers?

Thank you for all the input every one. Cadaverous Pallor has the exact understanding of my situation, and I suspect they may be in the same. All vouchers are received. Since I ordered them online, I had to assign individual vouchers to each name. I received said vouchers, they have identifying numbers on them, yet no name. When I go into MDE i see all the tickets there assigned to individual names, yet no identifying numbers. It's like trying to match "Dave's" credit card to a bill for 428 dollars, yet the bill doesn't have dave's name on it, and dave doesn't know the amount of what he spent. Anyways, long and short of it, I phoned Disney. They were able to take the short 4 digit number from the bottom right hand of the card and tell me which person each voucher belonged to. I mentioned that it's very frustrating not having identifiers on them or on the website in any way that would have let me figure this out myself. If anyone else is int the same boat as myself, I would suggest phoning in. As a happy accident, while phoning in I asked them to delete some old tickets from my account. Turns out Disney accidentally turned our 2014 tickets into non-expiring tickets back at that time when i added a day to them. We never knew, and although they have all their park days used on them, there are still 9 Water park fun and more entitlements left on each one, so yay me!

Has anyone bought these for a much later date (I'm thinking 2020) WITHOUT getting the international shipping and just having them will call?

I would rather save the $25USD but am concerned about the lack of hardcopy voucher. Do they still send you a e-mail confirmation with all the details?

I chose to do my purchase by phone on Saturday night. I was told that I would NOT get them shipped and all I would get was a verbal confirmation number (no email). On Sunday I called back and had no issues getting an email confirmation (after giving my verbal confirmation number). The email basically stated the tickets I purchased and my total cost (like a receipt) with no instructions or terms and conditions. I was again told I could not get anything mailed to me. On Monday, I got an email notification that a UPS package was being shipped to me. On Tuesday, I received the plastic exchange vouchers (they look like gift cards). The exchange vouchers clearly state the date of purchase.

**OOPS** replied to a quote from a different thread.

MDH: So glad it worked out for you! And thanks for the detailed information - I'll definitely keep it in mind in case I run into any snags of my own.

Glad it worked out as well as it did!

I will do the same :)

We recently purchased 5 adults and 2 childrens park admission tickets with the Canadian Resident Discount offer from CAA and did not have to provide any names. These were not purchased in conjunction with a vacation at WDW. We then received an email from Walt Disney World Reservations stating:

Exchange certificates must be exchanged for the applicable pass or ticket at any Walt Disney World® Theme Park ticket window or a Disney Springs® Guest Relations window. Each guest will be required to show a valid Canadian passport at the time of exchange.

I am not sure if this relates to this feed but thought I would add for your info.
