When does the Canadian special come out?

Anyone have any insider info on what it might be? Has it not been the same thing for the past few years?

The historical timing and types of deals can be found at this link:

http://www.mousesavers.com/faq.html

They've had "Canadian" deals announced in October of the past couple of years. The last "Canadian" (for stay this fall) deal was no better than the deal that was available for the general public.

I think they usually announce discounts like cdn at par in the fall (end of Oct if I remember correctly) for the following Spring.

We had cdn at par deal over Easter 2004 and although I didn't book until Jan I think the code was available Oct 2003.

(Scratch42-can you confirm this?)

I booked the CDn at Par last year in October for the following March Break. If you are going at that time of year book early. I booked about 2 weeks after the deal was announced and space was already limited at the ASMV. It was a good deal for our family and I really liked the UPH Passes.

Keep an eye out 'cause with all these hurricanes, Disney may be offering a few extra deals in the near future!

WRT the Canadian at Par deal, I was speaking to my TA last week and he told me that the other "public" deals that Disney was offering last year were better for his clients than the "Canadian" deal. i.e., the other discounts were better than getting a discount from "rack rates" roughly equal to the exchange rate difference between the Canadian and U.S. dollar. So, he actually booked very few Canadians under that promotion. Given how strong the Canadian dollar has been recently against the U.S. dollar recently (approaching 80 cents), this is even more likely to be the case if Disney offers an "at par" deal.

Just something to keep in mind and to remind Canadian DISers to check the other deals out there at the time and, even after you book, to keep checking for other deals that may be better that you can try to apply against your existing ressies.

That is exactly what I was thinking the last few days.. I think that they have lost a lot of money lately with the storms and will offer deals to get it back!
:bounce:

BTW, I picked up a World of Vacations catalogue on the weekend and they have Seaworld and Busch Cdn @ par deals (Oct 1-Apr30/2005) -If I remember correctly, 2park 2day tickets were $119 CDN. Says to contact a TA and mention the WOV brochure specials.

I used a Mousesaver's TA for my daughter's Nov trip. First she had an CAA room only rate(rate was $77US + taxes, CAA total $68US) and when the new fall rate came out she was able to get the $55 rate(which saved her another $44US over the week). If you use one of the Disney TA specialists they will look out for specials that come out. Book your room and if a new rate comes out, you can see if can be reduced.

I recently discovered that there are alot of TA's in our area that are not only WDW Specialist, they have worked at WDW, DLR or on the DCL's. They make awesome TA's to book Disney vacation through.
