Canadian Resident Airmiles Ticket - upgrade

Has anyone tried to upgrade the current tickets that are available through Airmiles? We really want hoppers, but they aren’t included in the offer. The offer is only good till March 15th, we have just enough miles for 4 tickets right now (our trip is booked Sept 3-10). I’m afraid if I wait that the amount of miles I need will go up and I will have to pay out of pocket for the 4th ticket and still have to upgrade to hoppers. Opinions/thoughts?? Thanks

Yes you can upgrade any ticket media, Disney LOVES to take our money any chance they get! HOWEVER, you will lose any of the discount you currently have because you first need to bring the value of what you hold to the current cost of the same ticket. SO, poof, CDN discount gone before you even consider adding the hoppers. I don't think i've heard anyone say they are willing to pay the hundreds required to actually upgrade. You might want to look at your plans and see if you can get away withOUT hopping ? Or putting the money you would pay for that towards party tickets instead

I do realize that, but instead of paying $1987 for 4 tickets I would pay $600 for 4 tickets with hoppers with the current air miles offer IF my calculations are correct. So still a huge savings, just not free. I’m curious if my calculations are correct and also if anyone has any idea how many miles regular tickets would be.

Well, you didn't mention how long, how many adults & how many kids .. i would love to check your math for you!

Regarding miles for tickets once the current stock runs out .. we've been debating that in the Airmiles Alert thread and haven't been able to come to any conclusions because that involves both AM and Disney Math Most figure there will be a significant increase in the miles required because they will need to provide tickets that are "open-ended" if that makes any sense.

I would love for you to check my math We require 4 adult 5 day tickets. My husband and son haven’t been in 4 years and really want hoppers, so that’s the upgrade. Although, now that I’m thinking of it, if we are already upgrading to hoppers, I could probably add an extra day for very little more since we are already having to pay the difference. Hmmmm. So maybe check the math on that too and I will as well and see if we get the same figure.

Dang, i checked my phone as i ate my breakie and forgot to actually do this! Here's my math:

• 5 day Adult CDN tickets on the Disney site: $329.00 + tax = $350.39
• Regular 5 day Adult Hopper for a Sept 3rd entry $ 466.58 + tax = $496.61

So for each 5 day hopping ticket (better catch it before it gets away ) you'll need to hand over $146.22

• Add an extra day -- 6 day hopper for a Sept 3rd entry $476.50 + tax = $507.61

For each 6 day PH you need to hand over $157.22

Total cost for upgrading four 5 day adult CDN tickets to 5 day hoppers = $584.88 USD funds
Total cost for upgrading four 5 day adult CDN tickets to 6 day hoppers = $628.88 USD funds

When you go to actually do this it will help if you go prepared with your math printed out in case you end up getting quoted a much higher number. You can then ask the CM to please check their math again, or simply say no thanks and go to a different location.

*ETA, if you're like us and don't buy anything strictly because it has miles attached then these tickets are free to you at this point so upgrading instead of paying the full $2,000 PLUS exchange is a massive bonus. Have a blast!

Thank you so much!! I got the same figure, I just wanted to be sure I had it figured out correctly. Printing it out is an excellent idea! I will do that for sure! We get to book ADR’s tomorrow
