We will have a day and a half in Vancouver, B.C., before embarking on our Alaska cruise in June 2026. We are staying at the Fairmont Waterfront.

Is there a grocery store, Target or something like is near to the waterfront area where we can grab some Canadian snacks and bags of chips? We have a family friend from Toronto who brings us Canadian ketchup kettle chips and they are amazing!

Also, as long as they are not open, still sealed, can we take them onto the ship?

Yes, there are all sorts of small grocery/snack stuff stores in that area. There's also a 7-11 nearby by a couple of blocks. Just ask at the hotel where the nearest one (or two) are.

Yes, as long as the food items are still factory sealed, you may bring them onboard.

There are a lot of small stores nearby but most of them will probably have a fairly limited selection and small packages. The closest "real" grocery stores would be the Loblaws and the IGA, about 15 minutes walk from the cruise terminal. They would have big bags of chips and a lot more options. The PC kettle chips at Loblaws are really good. I think All Dressed is another Canadian flavour, and coffee crisp chocolate bars are great. Canadian Smarties are a bit like M and M's and you should find lots of maple flavoured items.

Most of the larger stores like Safeway and Save-on-Foods are located far away from Canada Place where the Disney ships sail from. Your best bet may be a nearby drugstore like Rexall or a convenience store which should have plenty of snack options. Waterfront Centre has plenty of those types of stores.

I purchased a couple of bags of regular sized potato chips, including the Canadian favorite All Dressed chips, from the Rexall on the bottom floor of what appears to be the same building as the Fairmont Waterfront. It's a little food court/shopping area across the street from Canada Place. You won't have to walk far.

That’s in the Waterfront Centre mall.

I mean... if you want big bags of chips and candies, there is a Costco 3 Skytrain stop away from Waterfront station next to Canada Place... with most carrying All-Dressed Ruffles chips...

Costco is membership restricted… assuming they have one…
