Anyone know how I can find out the 2006 and possibly 2007 dates for Canadian Dollars at Park for WDW through Visa?

I didn't know that Visa was offering this..where did you hear about it?

Last winter I read about it in the Toronto Sun Newspaper. Apparently you need to book the vacation prior to December 31st, and it is usually good Monday-Thursday and select weekends from January - April.

We got the at Par special for our trip Feb 2005. It came out around October I believe. We had to book by December and it included your room and park hoppers. The rooms at the ALL Stars and Pop went really fast. We had to book at POR.

Can you tell me if you were happy with this special? Any idea how much money you saved by doing it this way? (I don't want to be rude and ask you how much you spent, but I'd like to know how much the room worked out to be a night in Canadian funds, if you don't mind)

hi everyone..thought I would get in on this thread..we also got the Canadian at Par special last fall for March/April of this year. We paid $2300 Canadian for 7 nights at Pop and 8 day Ultimate Park Hopper tickets. We were fairly happy with the deal but didn't do any comparisons to paying US funds, with the Canadian dollar doing so well this spring I wonder if it was such a great deal! I've heard through these boards that people are skeptical about the Canadian at par deals being offered this year. With the dollar strong and the MYW tickets they don't need to offer any incentives.
But I will still keep my fingers crossed! ;)

Sorry , forgot to add : 2 adults, 1 child and 1junior!

We stayed at POR for 8 nights and had the Ultimate park hopper. Feb10-18th with 2 adults and 1 child. It came to $1715 USD. They charge you in USD and set the the exchange rate to a certain value.Last year it was somwhere around 74 cents even though we got a rate of around 80 cents from visa since we had to charge it on visa to get the promotion. Therefore you even get a better deal since they set the rate really low. I am hoping they do the same this year. :cool1:

I did some comparisons with the CAA/AAA rates and an estimated exchange rate on at-par rates, and found there wasn't much difference. You (generic you) can order a CAA membership on the web for under $60 Canadian if you aren't already a member, book your dates with CAA/AAA, and then keep your eye out for at par deals.
(This was my intention, 'til the free dining YMP code came out, then I decided to use that. My dates have moved three times so far but I'm hoping to book a work-related conference in Georgia which will cement the timeframe)

I'd agree they probably don't need to offer any incentives, but they might. I'm skeptical about the cost savings of a rack rate at par, versus a CAA package or a 'free dining deal' package.

Gosh - I hope it's offered again this year, but I doubt it!

fingers crossed!

I never compared to CAA rates. The at par looked good enough for me because of the extra 10% we saved just by the low exchange rate disney set and the Canadian dollar was over 82 cents. I think the free meal plan would be a great deal, but we are only going in March 2006 :sad2:
