Canadian Buffoon's Semi-EPIC Vacation - 10/29 - Link to new TR!

Hi pkondz! I am ashamed how long it took me to realize you'd started :sad2: Not to worry! I only had 86 pages to catch up on
Nahhhh...
You're right on time!
Only one update in. :)

Next one's in the works.
Absolutely, positively!
Yep. And sometimes they don't even burp them back up :sad2:
Luckily, I've never...
Nope. That's not right.
A loooong time ago,
I had that happen.
But it was my own fault.
Got to the airport late
and the bag came on the

next flight.
It was amazing. My mom dragged home from a trip to Key West all these grass reeds (no, not that kind of grass...)
that she affixed to the exterior of the bar to look like we just sauntered up from the beach. I wish I could find a picture of it! Sadly, she isn't in that house anymore. I thinks she misses the bar most of all
Wish I could see it too!

On phone, so multiquoting is out.
With the new upgrade,
you should be able to
multi-quote on your phone now.

At the time I could hold my breath for a long time...I forget how long now, but could swim length of Olympic pool twice underwater.
I did a lot of snorkeling and holding my breath allowed me to stay down and go further than most could, but again...kicking myself for not getting scuba cert. Some folks know, some don't, the military doesn't pay well and even though I could have gotten a discount, it was still pricey.
Still a big regret.
Twice length is impressive.
I could only do a length.
My instructor did two lengths
with ease, though.
Don't get me started on those

free divers though!

:lmao:

Dude. What is wrong with you?
I got mine up here!
In water that's (not kidding)
just slightly above freezing.
Wore 3/4" neoprene and
we'd have blue lips (from the cold)

when we got out.

He's right.

I've had that experience.
I've had a good friend
and a cousin who've both
made fruitcake.

And they were really good!
What is wrong with me?

How much time do you have and how long of a list do you want?

I know! Rub salt in the wound!

I already knew you were crazy (you like me), but blue lips and scuba do not go together.

Home made fruit cake is NOTHING like store bought. Yum!!!

Haven't tried it yet. Will have to figure out how.

Good point.
Ain't no one got

that kinda time!
I know! Rub salt in the wound!
::yes::

They do if you want to dive
in the Great White North.

Easy peasy.
Just highlight text
like you would in
literally any other app...
And the "quote/reply" fly up

will open up.

:scared1: You both have me doing this :worship: I'm gasping for air just imaging it. I have a habit of such things, though... I was the girl banging on the door to be let out of Mission Space: the green side :rotfl2:
:lmao:

Joining in! I'm glad you made it through the stressful customs deal in Toronto. Looking forward to seeing more from your trip!

I remember you mentioning something like that with the old system and I had tried it, but obviously didn't do it right. Just did here (on computer though) and you actually have to insert quotes at the reply box. Worked like a champ though.

I'll stop talking about it then...don't want you gasping for air...that's no bueno. So...if we ever ride mission space, we need an oxygen bottle for Tracy...got it! It really was just training and practice. I'm sure I couldn't even do one length now.

It didn't work on phones before.
Now it will. :)

I could do it before, but wasn't at all easy. I would have to cut & paste the quote line and then cut & paste the /quote line (leaving out brackets so it doesn't try to quote that. very laborious.

Hey!!!! I was being serious (and selfish)...if she's not there to push her button at the right time, we die.

Yes! I appreciate your thoughtfulness
I've heard a lot of good about you...I'd want you to be able to enjoy the ride. Uh-oh, multiquoting these together didn't necessarily work out the best.

You'll see. :)

I'll have more to say
on that... later.

I paid for most of the trip.
I'll call her whatever I want...
and she'll like it!
:snooty:

You are not the only one.
I don't pack until the day before,
but everything is ready by then.

I pack two days before now because I have to spend the last day dealing with Frans stuff.

Don't adopt.

;)

Oh heck no! I was always afraid that if I adopted a kid I may be getting someone's devil spawn! Then again if I'd had a kid, what is they were just like me?

But I wasn't complaining.
I'd rather be too early,
than too late.

True. I hate running late.

I know!
I looked at the photo
and thought "Alison's going
to ask me about this."

Not kidding.

Whoa. That's a little freaky!

I thought about that...
almost bought one.
Then realized that since I normally
travel alone... the bag weight was

going to be the bag weight.

But at least you could have taken something out at home or out it in the carry on.

 Don't worry.
It'll take them a long time
to figure it out.

:lmao:

Let's just say compared to me at a little less than half my age, I am now a saint and a model citizen.

Have you seen the movie
with Ben Stiller?
I love that movie!

No just read the short stories in Jr High.

I don't know... I think they
come up, the table is held in
by the seatbelt.
But you won't gain a lot of room

because of that little table.

It's not so much room on the seat. What killed me the last time that I had to sit in a middle seat was the way I had to bend my torso so as not to be leaning against the passenger in the window seat.

::yes::
They have two:

Huh. Never would have guessed.

It would explain so much, wouldn't it?

But... no.

:lmao:

My uncle, well Grandma's brother had a plate in his head. We was shot down in the invasion of Normandy. He was a paratrooper.

I didn't even look at the
dinner menu. Huh!

You did when I posted it.

Now I know.
You don't have to
hit me over the head with it.

See what I did there?

:sad2:

Not happy.
At least I can upload/download

them from home and then
work on writing on my breaks.

Still.

No idea why it's blocked.
Someone must've done

something.

Back to Mark's TR. People suck.

I use Google docs at work a bit.
And can see the appeal.

It was great last night. Through a strange twist of events our band is being featured in the kickoff of the first ever live parade broadcast of next weeks pride parade. The TV station wanted a one minute blurb on the band, so I wrote one, Fran modified it and then I shared the document with the other three guys who were "approving" it and by like 10PM we had a viable blurb to send them.

Good luck keeping caught up!
It never ends!

By the way...
I should have an update
up soon.

Sorry!

That's fine, i only have two more reports to comment on.

It didn't work on phones before.
Now it will. :)

It worked on my phone, but it works a whole lot better now.

I pack two days before now because I have to spend the last day dealing with Frans stuff.
I understand. :)
Oh heck no! I was always afraid that if I adopted a kid I may be getting someone's devil spawn!
You've been watching
too many movies!

Image result for movie about evil adopted child

Then again if I'd had a kid, what is they were just like me?
:rolleyes1
Studiously avoids commenting...
Whoa. That's a little freaky!
Maybe I know you just
a little bit. :)

But at least you could have taken something out at home or out it in the carry on.
Not really. My carry on is
usually pretty full too.

Let's just say compared to me at a little less than half my age, I am now a saint and a model citizen.
Saint Alison.
Has a nice "holier-than-thou"
ring to it.
No just read the short stories in Jr High.
Try the movie. :)

Yuck.
I loooove flying Plus.
Don't always get to, though.
My uncle, well Grandma's brother had a plate in his head. We was shot down in the invasion of Normandy. He was a paratrooper.
I've jumped out of an airplane,
but not over enemy territory
while being shot at!!!
:worship:
You did when I posted it.
Yes, but I forgot what was
on it until I looked at the
lunch menu.
Which would explain
why it looked so unfamiliar.
I was expecting to recognize

it and I didn't.

That's teamwork. :)

So I have your permission
to write?

It worked on my phone, but it works a whole lot better now.
It never worked on mine.
Now it does. :)

Does Elle know that you're calling her a Buffoon?

:lmao:

But I am very familiar with the song. :)

I haven't seen it in like 40 years, but did watch the song about a year ago to brush up. I'd forgotten how completely inane the whole thing was.

Could've been worse. Coulda said North.

And that would be bad.

Sorry. I don't give out my
VIP bus pass willy nilly.

Okay fine then. I was going to offer a trade, VIP weather pass for use of the VIP transport pass.

But never mind.

I did however manage to meet
a few of them over the course
of our own trip.
Hence, while not an EPIC trip,
there is a loose connection.
So... Semi-EPIC.
Finally joining into one of your reports somewhere near the beginning!
For reasons that will become
clearer later, I had to book
our flights separately.
I knew that even if I called
to fight the extra fee...
I wouldn't win.
"I'm sorry, sir. But since
she's traveling on her own,
separate ticket, she'll have
to pay. There's nothing we
can do."

Yeah, yeah.
I paid the fee... grumbling all along.
Sounds very Air Canada ish.....
One nice thing about
your home airport
(if you travel enough)
is you get pretty familiar
with the dos and don'ts.
I know I can leave my
shoes on.
As well as my belt.
It doesn't set off the metal...
I traveled in your lovely home airport as I was visiting my aunt and cousins (River Heights and Charleswood...see I know my Winnipeg neighbourhoods!)
We were the first to board.
She looks happy about
her extra space, don't you think?
That extra space is awesome!
Minutes were ticking by.
I knew we still had to go
through customs and our flight
was boarding in 50 minutes.
That might seem like a long time,
but...

Every minute was torture.

We finally were allowed through
to this room.
This is the first time I have ever felt good about flying directly through Toronto>
A word about my camera bag.
It's heavy.
It has a DSLR camera with
add on dual battery pack,
and five lenses of various sizes.
I stowed it in a compartment
above my head.
In hindsight, I wish I'd put it
over someone else's head.
Because about 5-10 minutes
after we got going, it fell out
of the overhead bin and landed
on my head before falling into
the aisle.
There was a collective
"oooohhhhh!!!" from the
seats behind me.

I suppose it's a good thing
it hit my head on the way down.
Probably saved me some repairs.
I can always replace the plate
in my head, but a good camera
isn't easy to find in Disney.
Oh no!
It was good!
Sweet... which I like,
and refreshing.

We split an order of
the crabcake,
Crabcake looks great!
conch fritters,
And the fritters.....
and we each had our
own conch chowder.
and the chowder! You picked everything I would pick.

Not in the least surprised.

Didn't think you would be!

Well, I wouldn't close it.
That'd take too much time.
I'm too busy fleeing.

I do not blame you!

Love my mom! Greatest person I know.

Did you miss it, then?

I didn't miss it for a lot of years. I was happy to be doing my own thing in the summers but as I have gotten older I miss the carefree days of playing playstation in the cab while he drove, playing i spy and other driving games, and just hanging out with dad while seeing the country...oh and falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engine and the a/c blasting on my face. I always slept against the vent.
