Wish I could come to the most awesome DIS meet at DL!!! But airfare from Ohio is outrageous.

Meat and Potatoes, that's what's on the menu for tomorrow night. Today is Crustacean Eve.

So Kay decided she wanted to
go see some Capybaras in Florida.

Those suckers are pretty hard to locate!

Imagine my surprise when
Kay said she didn't want to go anymore.

Might as well before the world is destroyed.

Kay did know that California was...
differently minded than Florida, shall we say?

She didn't have a problem going there.

And it's much less humid.

I've been so busy that I haven't had
a chance to digest anything yet.

Try working on that Meat and Potatoes you were serving us earlier.

No details yet, but probably only one day in DL.
And sometime between March 24 - 30.

I'm not sure if it's year round, or just when the NBC overlay is on the HM, but they are out a lot at DL. Yes they have a line, but nowhere near 2 1/2 hours.

He didn't recognize my costume.
I let it go.

<faceplant> I didn't recognize the costume either, but as soon as I googled it, I saw the resemblance immediately!

Even Dukes wear shorts when they're on vacation.
Just saying.

But real Dukes pack more than one pair.

And don't you just love how Sally is standing?
She was really good at moving and walking
like she does in the movie. Loved her.

I've only seen her stand still. I wonder if the one at DL has it down as well.

Note that normally pkondz
does not wear red shirts.

Why? Trying to avoid the connotation or you just don't like the color? It's one of my favorites. Shirts, pants, dresses, jackets.....

You did. I see the little remote clicker in your hand. You probably placed it on a trash can or something for the tripod. Unless you had your Gorilla pod with you.

The street was still a little damp from the rain
and I hoped that they wouldn't cancel
the headless horseman.... but they did.

Bummer. They can't have the headless horseman at DL because due to logistical constraints the parades run twice. Once from FL down through the Hub and down Main Street. Then the second parade starts on Main Street and goes back up to FL so that the floats an be stored on the back lot until the next day. Because the HH can't see so good, they rely on the horse to "know" the route by heart and it just runs on auto pilot. They can't do it at DL since the route varies for the 1st and second parades. Plus I'm sure OSHA has something to do with. They have something to do with everything nowadays.

Suddenly, as if out of nowhere,
three nattily attired gentlemen
asked if I'd assist them in
procuring transportation.

Huh? I'd be a little worried with such scruffy characters in the midst.

And once again, I'm disappointed
with the photos.
Some day I'll get decent
fireworks photos.

I thought they were pretty good. I just got an ND filter the other day, but I was too tired to deal with trying to take fireworks pictures when I was out there 10 days ago. I can't wait to use it when I'm not so crazy with other stuff going on!

I felt someone tap my arm.
I glanced to my left,
and there was a woman sitting
in an ECV and her daughter was
sitting in front of her.
"My Mom's been waiting and she
can't see."

I'd be the one sulking back there and not saying anything, silently cursing the one who set up in front of us. If you say that you didn't notice maybe I will not assume that they are doing it to be jerks and perhaps say something next time. But knowing my luck it won't be a polite Canadian, it's be some red neck thug who delights in bullying and demeaning the disabled and other "undesirable" groups, so often targeted nowadays.

After he passed,
I left in search of something new.

Wise choice. Nice shot by the way.

What you did was,
stand still for about 10 seconds
while a CM moved what looked
like a neon tube, from right to left
behind you.

Interesting, you're making me think I might want to attend one of the parties at DL!

DOLE WHIP TIME!!!!
So I did.

Sooooooo good.
No pictures.
Just drinking/eating.

Just a warning. The line for Dole Whips at DL is always long. It's shorter if you order them inside the queue (waiting area) for the Tiki Room. Then you have to (well not have to) but are somewhat obligated to see the show.

I checked the time.
Closing in one minute.

Bummer.

You'd think that Disney employees
would recognize a Disney character.

No. A lot of them are so inundated by the mouse in their work environment that they ignore it at all costs when on personal time. I don't think there is an ongoing education program for employees once they have completed the initial several day immersion in "how not to say 'no' ever, and only point with multiple fingers."

I took the shirt off and....
The top half or so of my shorts
were now (permanently, I later discovered)
dyed... pink.

So glad they were the only pair I'd packed...

for fireworks. Hmmm...

All my friends on the DIS (who take fantastic fireworks shots) use them. Then they can do long exposures and catch the trails and those large bursts don't overexpose the shot. I'm going to have to try it, soon. On Jan 11, I'm taking a group of my local friends for some fun at the park, sorta like we'll do.

Well, of course I don't know about those,
but the WDW one is a ton of fun.

I didn't get much done at the one I did at WDW, although I'm not sure what all the special character meets and such are all about for DL's. I'll have to do some research....
