Okay, I am feeling pretty good about my Hawaii radar - missed by a few but at least I figured a thing or two out.

Beautiful pics! I'm surprised you went to so many beaches this trip, since you are not a beach guy. Black sand - "ouch! oooo! wowza! Ouch!" Good thing you had your flip flops.
Love the little Gecko - too bad he wasn't able to hang ten for the whole day!

hope everyone had a great Friday! Spent the day at our school district's Special Olympics. Weather was pretty nice only 85 degrees (hey out here that isn't too bad this time of year) but is was and always is AMAZING to see these kids give it their all, and to see the looks on their faces when they cross the finish line? Priceless and moving. now just kicking back, bing watching burn notice and heating up some "Walt's Chili" (got a recipe card at DCA ) have a great weekend folks

We pulled into a gas station
and I fueled up...
For a grand total of $10.
That's it?
Wow. I thought I'd driven a lot more than that.
Either this car is really good on gas,
or I'm just used to the generally higher
price of gas in Canada.
Just as a frame of reference,
gas (as I type this) in ND (just south of us)
is at $2.03.
Up here right now it's about $3.75.
And yes, I know I'm comparing USD to CAD,
but when you hand over a $10 bill,
it feels the same whether it's green or purple.
(Yes... purple.)

I feel you my fellow multi-coloured currency friend (although ours are blue - our purply pink ones are only worth $5!)

The rest of the famn dambly was sitting in the car

when Kay spotted something on the hood.

Well, hi there!

I finally guessed something right!

We got in line and shoved a pin in
this map as we waited.

I feel ashamed that my country is so poorly representative on the cork board!

I asked everyone which banana bread
was better, theirs or mine.
Ruby and Kay said mine was better.
Elle said she preferred this one.

If you like Banana bread you really need to come for a visit - a make a mean banana bread (and I'll even take out the coconut for you)

What I do know, was that there was
one pole, with three shower heads.
And while this boy, about 19 years old,
Elle and I were rinsing off...
I must admit, it was... interesting.

The boy must've been getting ready
to go golfing.
At least I assume he was.
Pretty sure he had some golf balls
in a pocket...
Because as he showered,
he pulled his shorts open a bit
to rinse... well, everywhere.
And as he did so, he sang a sweet little song:
"Washing my balls! Washing my balls!"

Worth it, though.

If you say it was worth it than I agree. Although personally I'd feel like I'd get beach fatigue after like two or three (like how you get Temple fatigue in South East Asia or museum fatigue in Europe)

We crested a hill and saw where
the streambed crossed the road.
(Why did the stream cross the road?

It was sick of being a hipster and wanted to back to the mainstream

Elle's eyes were drawn to the sound.
She let out a little wail.
It was a combination of "ew" and "nooo!"
Sort of an "Ewwwwnnnoooooeeeewwww!"


She'd just experienced her first full moon.

It was obvious. If you didn't, don't wine.

thinking the last excursion is shopping, the ladies like the shopping, had another Hawaiian ice for the road so to speak, 3 more beaches, those naughty pkondz pilots dringking wine before flying he he he, not sure about the sugary snack guess I need to re read a chapter or two think it is you that gets picked for pre check, "are you constipated?" and they pat down kay to make sure she didn't bring that lizard home lol and think the flight is late (you know because the pilots have to have their wine first lol) by one hour and when you get home you have to dig your way through the snow to get your car and then dig again when you get to your drive way. )

and I can say by day 2 you have hit some great spots.

I couldn't believe how much we did in such a short time.

If you ever make it in the water Napili is great for snorkeling.

I was thinking of that, but...
Due to the winter waves,
snorkeling wasn't recommended
(at least not off the beach)
since the water was so churned up.

Go to one of the off site scuba shacks and you can rent for the week for only 10 bucks. Best deal I know.

I'd researched that
before finding out about the
water conditions.

Cool Cats other 2 locations are in my hometown, would have given you the heads up to skip.

You know, other than the
(stupid high) price,
we liked it.
Kay still talks about her milkshake!

If you ever make it back your one excursion has got to be a Trilogy boat tour/scuba anything.

I'd like to try that.
I'd read about Trilogy
and considered it for our excursion.

My husband and I just got back from a quick few day trip to WDW!!!

I'm all for a short trip over no trip.

We didn't go to any parks- well, except MK for the After Hours event- SO WORTH IT!!

Plus it was 1/2 price since we are DVC members.
