Hmmm..."If it fills with flour. Sum of all Mills"...no? Too punny? Well, a valiant attempt, I suppose.Unfortunately, like I said, it was a long line.
Pretty much exhausted every possibility.
You can try one if you like.
But I guarantee we already said it.
OK, serious question here. I've thought about doing Sum of all Thrills before, but I'm wondering what a "drop" feels like on this simulator. I may have mentioned before that my favourite coaster is BTMRR because I like fast and turns, I don't mind upside down, but I'm not a fan of straight drops (e.g. Splash Mountain, not for me).The robot arm can swing you up, down and side to side
in a much greater arc than traditional rides can manage.
It can even flip you upside down.
I've said it before, but I do love the idea of the younger/older comparison pictures of Kay. I really need to keep this in mind for my next trip. My oldest DD is nearly 16 but was 8 when we first took her, so it would work out well. I guess the trick is to look at the older pictures before the trip and pick some good locations to remember?Oh, yeah.
And afterwards, this happened...
We're from Canada." I said.
I know to just leave it at that.
I've found that if I say "Winnipeg",
I get blank stares.
If I say "Manitoba" the province that has
Winnipeg as its capitol... I get blank stares.
So I usually go with the safe "Canada"
and expound if asked for more details.
Magic Kingdom1. Obvious one. Which park are we heading out to next?
You save MK for last, so 2 parks that day.2. Remember we have to be at the lobby for check out at 2:45am.
So... Is the next park our last of the day? Or not?
Number of parks done this last day, 2, 3 or 4?
churro3. I experience yet another first time snack.
And it's another fairly common one.
(I had to. I promised I would.) What is it?
I'll say 9 (to try beating the fireworks crowd to the bus)4. Oh, take a wild guess on what time we leave the parks for the night.
And just to make things extra easy for you...

No, it rains. Another reason to leave a bit earlier than close?5. We've been lucky with the weather... so far.
So, do you feel we stay lucky?
Yes. You want to finish off the trip with something special.6. What do you think? We've done one ADR today already.
Do we have a dinner ADR?
At one point, he and his wife Smidgy were at Teppan Edo
and he decided to "test" the hot plate.
Only Nebo would do that.
And that surprised me.
I guess I was under the mistaken belief
that most of you had followed me from there.
I'm a little shocked... and humbled too,
that so many of you have joined me in
this little adventure.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hmm.... Something is different.
There's a disturbance in the Force.
I popped open the door and...
Yep. There IT was.
Hanging from the door knob like a garrotted condemned criminal.

"Dad? Are we going to do Sum of all Thrills today?"
Here's the course we came up with:
![]()
Maybe it's because I've driven more than twice as fast
in Germany on the Autobahn.
![]()
Hmmm... Maybe she's trying to tell me something.
Sheesh. Some things never change...

We quickly walked
(quickly, because our ADR time was fast approaching)
over to Italy and announced ourselves to the host at Via Napoli.
There! Are you happy?
Most of you guessed we'd eat here.
Shortly after being seated,
a lovely young lady named Gabriella asked us if we'd like some water.
We chatted with her for a bit and she was an absolute delight.
This was only her third day working unsupervised.
And the only thing she was allowed to do was serve water.
And boy! Did she serve us our water!
Any time a glass was down to 3/4 full,
she'd walk briskly over and take the glass away.
Moments later she'd return with another full glass.
It got to the point where I was a little afraid
to take a sip of water for fear of running her off her feet!
For all you Via Napoli fanatics...
prepare to be disappointed.
I did enjoy the pizza and, if memory serves,
(it seldom does) Kay did too.
But.
Was it amazing? No.
You want amazing? Try Chicago.
Or heck, come to Winnipeg.
There I bought a shirt for my Dad,
which he just got the other day, for Christmas.
"A small town in Jersey, just outside Philadelphia."
Moments later, we disembarked and headed off to the bus stop,
passing New Jerseyites and New Jerseyans left and right.
There was a family from (I assume) New Jersey already waiting.
While we waited, we were joined by other Jerseyans.
I'm giving you these things! 4 free bonus points to the following:
Bonus questions, point values and answers from last round.

Morning came bright and early on August 26th.
Well, maybe not "bright".
At least not for me.
And maybe not all that early either.
Isn't it wonderful when the writer starts off
by basically lying to you?
For some reason, it had taken me a while
to get to sleep the previous night.
Maybe because I was out gallivanting around taking pictures.
Maybe it was the three or eight mugs of Coke I drank
before going to bed.
Hard to pinpoint a cause, here.
Okay.
Step one. Panic.
"Last day! Last day! Barricade the door!
You'll never take me alive!"![]()
2:45am.
An hour later,
(interspersed with me running to the food court for drinks)
she was ready to go.
We set out and got to the bus stop at 10:40am
The bus arrived at 10:41am.
One minute.
It was longer than we were used to.
But I am nothing if not understanding.
I let it slide and chose not to berate the driver
for his tardiness.
Am I not gracious?
Of course I am.

"If the ride was cold, it would be Sum of all Chills."
"If you ate pickles while riding it would be Sum of all Dills."
"If you had a prescription it would be Sum of all Pills."
"If you died on it, it would be Sum of all Wills."
"Put a feather in it. Sum of all Quills."
"It goes really high, but not too high. Sum of all hills."
"Costs money. Sum of all Bills."
"Lots of garbage in it. Sum of all Fills."
"Underwater. Sum of all Gills."
"Makes you sick. Sum of all Ills."
"Worse, you die. Sum of all Kills."
ad infinitum
You can try one if you like.
But I guarantee we already said it.
I dunno.
We've all driven (or been driven) that fast on the highway.
Yet with the banked track, it seems faster, doesn't it?
And yet.
Maybe it's because I've driven more than twice as fast
in Germany on the Autobahn.
It seemed to be not as fast as I remembered it.
Oh, well.
Still a fun ride.
But. We weren't gushing about it afterwards
like we were after Sum of all Thrills.
We quickly walked
(quickly, because our ADR time was fast approaching)
over to Italy and announced ourselves to the host at Via Napoli.
Within moments we were seated.
There! Are you happy?
We finished our pizzas and chased them with gelato and sorbet.
I think Kay had the vanilla gelato while I had the lemon sorbet.
Now normally I'll take gelato over sorbet any day.
But lemon trumps non-lemon gelato.
Looking back, it's inexcusable.
Four minutes!
But at the time, I think I was just too bemused to notice.
Or worried about the weather.

I think I like the train version best. Stick with that one.
Embellish, too.
Just walking? You must've been taken completely by surprise!
Poor thing!
A year?!?!?Good grief!
How long ago was this?
And how are you getting around?
Walking boot? Cane? Crutches?
No kidding? Sounds interesting. Where do you go about finding them???I stumbled on these things called "Trip Reports".
Cool!I started reading his TRs and we became friends.
And it's because of his TRs and his encouragement
that I write mine.
And now we know who to blame.i.e. It's his fault!!!
Ouch.At one point, he and his wife Smidgy were at Teppan Edo
and he decided to "test" the hot plate.
Only Nebo would do that.
Um... nope. I'm not even sure how I got here to begin with. I must have got lost and for some reason, I'm still here. And that surprised me.
I guess I was under the mistaken belief
that most of you had followed me from there.
Ok enough of this sappy crap.I'm a little shocked... and humbled too,

See!!! That's what I said! If you didn't see it, it isn't real!Step three.
Pretend it's not real.
Did you ever notice that the last day in Disney
is equivalent to holding your fingers in your ears and yelling "la-la-la!"
"You have to go home, now."
I can't hear you!!! La-la-la!!
There will be time to sleep on the plane! What time do we need to be at the front desk tomorrow?
2:45am.
oh.
Sleep is overrated anyway.
You're just a teensy bit gracious.Of course I am.

Ok... just out of curiosity, was a certain someone else getting involved and saying them or was she just rolling her eyes?Unfortunately, like I said, it was a long line.
Pretty much exhausted every possibility.
If it was a restaurant it would be Sum of all Grills. You can try one if you like.
But I guarantee we already said it.
Hey! Wait a minute, I'm changing my guess!!!By now, you may have guessed what our first ride was.
And yet, not many of you guessed it when it counted!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've never felt too motivated to try this one, and therefore, I haven't. I'd kind of like to try it, but only if the line is short. I just have enough issues with motion simulators that I can't quite bring myself to stand in line to do this and maybe feel like crap.Hoooooey! That sucker is fun!
Might just be one of the best rides in Epcot.
Nicely done, Kay!Time for the FP.
We swiped our bands and entered.
Shortly thereafter, Kay had designed this:
Feminine... yet bad-a... uh.... mean looking.
Dad approves.
Um... not really.I dunno.
We've all driven (or been driven) that fast on the highway.
Yet with the banked track, it seems faster, doesn't it?
Oh, yeah.
And afterwards, this happened...
Well, she takes pride in her job if nothing else! This was only her third day working unsupervised.
And the only thing she was allowed to do was serve water.

she'd walk briskly over and take the glass away.

Great point. Inside WDW, not too bad. Outside WDW, highway robbery.Really? I can get a $6.00 shake at 50s Prime Time,
but can't get a $4.50 lemonade?
(Those prices are insane when I look at them
from outside the WDW bubble.)
I want to come down on you... but I can't. I love Via Napoli. And I think part of the love for it is the fact that it is better than the other pizza around down there and it is definitely superb to the typical generic theme park pizza. We've got a few local places that are very similar to what we can get at VN and we enjoy eating there. So yeah, I think in other regions and areas, it might not compare quite as favorably. But when it comes to places to eat in WDW, it is by far one of my favorites and I'll go there for some pizza any time! For all you Via Napoli fanatics...
prepare to be disappointed.
I did enjoy the pizza and, if memory serves,
(it seldom does) Kay did too.
But.
Was it amazing? No.
Well, I might still be happy. You on the other hand...Because when she's not happy, oh boy.
You'll definitely not be happy.
Reason enough for me!We also had worked up a bit of an appetite from the walking,
so a visit to Karamell Kuche was in order.
Well, we didn't really have an appetite worked up,
but who cares??? It's Karamell Kuche!
That's all Jersey is..."Where are you from?" I politely enquire.
And she, of course, replies:
"A small town in Jersey, just outside Philadelphia."
Who cares? It's Jersey.Of course.
I have it now.
Everyone, with the exception of Kay and me,
is from Jersey.
I get it now.
But it begs the question.
If everyone from Jersey is here now.
Who's minding the store back in Jersey????
So we got to the dock at 2:52pm and had zero wait.
That's a fast boat...We arrived at the bus stop at 2:52pm.

Sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this. It will get better; really. I seceded in snapping one of my Achilles Tendons right in half a few years ago and had to deal with very similar issues including a multistory home.Ugh. I wish on any of those. If the complete rupture is confirmed by tomorrow's MRI, I will have surgery in the next week or so and have a cadaver tendon put in to replace the one I blew. Yep, one year of recovery time. I am not allowed to bear any weight on it. I have a boot right now because the MRI people don't want a cast, but that will change after tommorow, I can't walk at all...I have a "knee walker" which is essentially a 4 wheeled scooter that you put your knee up on and scoot with the other foot. It's heavy and doesn't have the tightest turning radius, so it's kind of a pain in my tiny house, but I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. I injured it on Dec. 14, and have been sleeping on the couch since then since I can't take stairs. It's misery. I finally ordered a new memory foam mattress that I'm going to put on the floor in our den to sleep on because it looks like I'm in this for the long haul.
Anyway....not to be a downer!! I'm thinking I've been inspired after reading your trip report to write one from our last trip in June. Seems like so long ago, though, don't know if they'll be interest.
Sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this. It will get better; really. I seceded in snapping one of my Achilles Tendons right in half a few years ago and had to deal with very similar issues including a multistory home.
How are your stairs finished?
Ours were carpeted which added a bit of cushion so I learned to get up them on a foot and a knee. Got right good at it too; could put the knee of the bad leg up about two or three steps then bring the good foot up to match and then shift the bad one another two or three and so on. The hand rails allowed me to easily cover the work of balancing and supplied good leverage to get up and down afterward. Coming down was optional; either reversing the process or going down on my rump (half decent, half slide, a little fun at times and fairly quick for that matter).
I had a similar scooter as well. Mine didn’t have any steering mechanism, you just rocket it back on the rear wheels and quickly shifted the front in the direction needed. You may find that quicker than steering at times yourself. I could also hang a crutch or cane off the handle bar to transition more easily from wheeling to sitting if space was tighter; say like getting into a car, my work cubical or maybe a restroom stall (well, you got’a think about these things). That device also folded up pretty flat and with little effort so I’d just drag it behind me up and down the stairs.
Just a few observations from someone that’s been there to give you some different ideas on dealing with the predicament. Needless to say, I wasn’t very happy to so impacted, but my outlook was kind’a like: “well, I can’t do it that way anymore, so now how do I get it done now”. You’d be surprised how quickly you can adapt. Good luck and may this heal up far quicker than you expect.
what a really nice tribute to your friend Nebo! And we must thank him also, for encouraging you to start writing TR's yourself!I started reading his TRs and we became friends.
