Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

:jumping1: How exciting!!! Maybe a hop skip and a jump over to Aulani???

Not this time, Tori.
We did last time, I wrote about it in my first TR.
We were considering staying there,
until we decided to try a new (to us) island.

Yeah, that would have crossed my mind as well :rotfl2:

You're not alone!

Absolutely!!

That's what we thought!

True Story. My cousin's husband is in the Army and have been stationed in Hawaii for the last 3 years and the two things I take away from it are EVERYTHING is expensive and traffic is horrendous.

Which island is he on? I didn't find the traffic to be too bad in Oahu.
Then again, I don't think I ever drove at rush hour,
and I mostly got away from Honolulu.

BLASPHEMY!

Ohhhh... Good word.

They were trying to make up for that monorail fiasco!

They needed to make negative time then.
Maybe if they'd run over and carried us...

:lovestruc LOVE Teppan Edo!

So do we!
If/when I go back, it's on my list.

In my experiences they are always entertaining! Our last chef told us he was from Pensacola, Japan...

That makes it 3 for 21.

Ugh, a girl after my own heart. I could live off of noodles and potatoes.

She'd eat noodles breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Sometimes does.

This is what my husband and I got last year and we shared :goodvibes

Great minds think alike apparently.

So why do you think like dumb ol' me?

I still have yet to have one of these. it is on my MUST HAVE list for our next trip!

No, no, no!
It should be on your MUST HAVE list for every trip.

Did you expect anything less at Disney?

Honestly? Yes.
I thought we could play at least a few decent games.
I felt pretty ripped off/conned to be truthful.

I've heard old folk-tales about this game. I'm not convinced it truely exists as I've never seen one in real life.

And you say you've been to Pop.
GO IN THE ARCADE!

It's there. It's real. It exists.

Since it was where we stayed on my first real trip to Disney I always consider Pop "home". Your photos are wonderful! Makes me miss that place. Expecially since this year is the first time were trying out a different resort. I'm excited to venture into the world of Mod's though!

Thanks!
Only done one Mod (POR) and really liked it.

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon? I'm gonna say PM because of packing up.

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it? San Angel Inn... but since I guessed Rose & Crown twice already and was wrong, that may very well be the anser this time lol

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride? Sum of All Thrills

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land? Soarin'
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs? Just one.

Noted.

:surfweb: I don't Netflix binge, I DIS binge!

pixiedust: Cheers to my favorite writer in the DIS!
I'm almost done with my busiest time of year, and gearing up for our annual trip to the world, and what better way than catching up on a Ponzie TR?!

Can't wait for tonight's update!

Dawn

Ouch! How did you manage to do that?!?!?
(If it's running from a shark, I totally understand.)

Oh, I wish I had some great story as to how it happened. Hiking the Appalachian Trail, Climbing Mount Everest, running to catch a train as romantic music swells as I realize I must get back to.... Yeah, nothing like that. I was walking to my minivan in front of my house on the way to taking my daughter to her dance company Christmas Spectacular dress rehearsal.

Now I am living vicariously through Disney Trip reports as it could be a year before I'm up and doing much of anything again.

:wave:HI! Over here! Over here! Is it too late to change a answer?
On my 2:30am drive to work I had you on my mind. I didn't like the Land as my answer for your first ride. So even though I know it will be wrong, I jumped WAY out of the box. I think I hit the ceiling.
If I'm right I need to go gambling again. But if wrong maybe it will give you a good chuckle. Not sure if this is something you would do but you did go diving in the Living Seas. Maybe Kay would like this:
Ready....you rode a Segway.
That's my out of the box answer and what the heck, I'm sticking to it.
Right now you are either saying- Wow how did she know that. Or you're thinking wow what has she been drinking. :drinking1
I can stretch this is two more updates.
Bummer. I'll have to just keep up with you on Steppsister PTR.

Have a good rest of your day. Since you're posting tonight, I might not be abele to wait till after work and may have to peek on here for a quick read

:surfweb: I don't Netflix binge, I DIS binge!

Well look who came out of hiding!
Hi Dawn
And :welcome: to the TR!

pixiedust: Cheers to my favorite writer in the DIS!

Awwww.... And Cheers to you too! And Happy New Year!

I'm almost done with my busiest time of year, and gearing up for our annual trip to the world, and what better way than catching up on a Ponzie TR?!

I can think of many, many ways...

Can't wait for tonight's update!

Not much longer.
I'm aiming for around 10pm Central Time.

Oh, I wish I had some great story as to how it happened. Hiking the Appalachian Trail, Climbing Mount Everest, running to catch a train as romantic music swells as I realize I must get back to.... Yeah, nothing like that.

I think I like the train version best. Stick with that one.
Embellish, too.

I was walking to my minivan in front of my house on the way to taking my daughter to her dance company Christmas Spectacular dress rehearsal.

Just walking? You must've been taken completely by surprise!
Poor thing!

Now I am living vicariously through Disney Trip reports as it could be a year before I'm up and doing much of anything again.

A year?!?!? :faint: Good grief!
How long ago was this?
And how are you getting around?
Walking boot? Cane? Crutches?

:wave:HI! Over here! Over here!

Huh? Whazzat? Wha?

Is it too late to change a answer?

Nope! As long as the update isn't up,
you are free to change answers.
(Except for the transportation time guess.
Time's running out on that. After the next update is it.)

On my 2:30am drive to work I had you on my mind.

Oh, you naughty girl!
Don't tell you husband.
Especially if he's bigger than I am.

Intriguing. Go ahead.

Got it.

Right now you are either saying- Wow how did she know that. Or you're thinking wow what has she been drinking. :drinking1

 Why not both?

Bummer. I'll have to just keep up with you on Steppsister PTR.

Yeah, I pop up a few places from time to time.
And that's one of them.

Have a good rest of your day. Since you're posting tonight, I might not be abele to wait till after work and may have to peek on here for a quick read

Aiming to have the update up and running around 10pm Central time.

OH yes, yes, YES!!!! We need more action over there; been really quiet lately. Much too much so for my entertainment's sake. ;)

Just noticed.
And it's not a good thing.
Only place I can make a woman say "OH yes, yes, YES!!!!" is on a computer.

<sigh>

Hey! Did you go into school today?

Due to the skating rink-like conditions of Western Oregon, almost every school and gov't building was closed. They re-scheduled our first day for tomorrow (which was supposed to be a study day- which I did all day today, anyway).

Just noticed.
And it's not a good thing.

<sigh>

What can I possibly say to that? Except that you still crack me up. LOL!

And so it's happened... My dad got laid off for the 8th time in his lifetime.:sad1: He's 65 and will be 66 in June when he could get his full social security. My heart breaks for him. He's deaf in one ear and uses a hearing aid for the other ear so there is no way he can find work even for six months. Thankfully my mom has her part time job. Please send any pixie dust or prayers for him. Can't wait for a happy update on your tr!!!! No pressure or anything!

How can you schedule like this? I'm lucky to sneak in updates while the Mrs. is catching some Z's and can do it on the sly!

Well, it's already written and waiting to go.
(Although I'll probably tweak it some more...)
Plus Ruby will be asleep before then, so I know I'll be free.

Ah.

They re-scheduled our first day for tomorrow (which was supposed to be a study day- which I did all day today, anyway).

Extra day to study in peace!

Or should that be

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad.
How is he taking it? I can't even imagine.

Geez! I don't know if my update will live up to your expectations!

Oh, you naughty girl!
Don't tell you husband.
Especially if he's bigger than I am.
Not the first time I've heard that!
I think he knows I have fun on this TR and tell him about the contest. Usually I refer to you as the Candian guy. Steppesister is the "going to be a nurse" one
He's about 6'1" ,thin on top and glasses....I mean my husband is.
Why not both
Good point. After the Monday I had at work, a margarita sounds pretty good. A guy I work with can be a real (another name for) a donkey.
Just noticed.
And it's not a good thing.

:rotfl::lmao:
Hopefully Ruby has another opinion.
See what you did? Got me thinking non-DIS comments.

pixiedust:Here's some pixie dust. I hope the best for you dad. Can he get any unemployment pay to get though the next six month?
I know the feeling. My husband was laid off from a job he had for 36 years. He had a small 401K and being 59 1/2 we could use it without penalty. Finding work and going out of his comfort zone wasn't easy so he took SS at 62. I have a good job but we still needed steady income with two kids still at home in HS. So he's officially retired (that was 5 years ago). Because he has a younger wife, I'll still need to work about 5-10 more years. Some how you find a way to make things work
