There is a thread in the main forum - about US Airlines canceling flights and/ or consolidating flights. The worse is when they cancel direct flights and make them hopper flights.

Well I guess Canadian airlines are now doing the same thing.

We, got notified last night that Air Canada ( yea I should have driven to Syracuse) is cancelling our night return flight @ 8pm and instead is cramming us into the 1:30 return flight...we now loose 6 hours or so of Disney fun...

Of course now we have to rethink our ADR's - we are probably going to cancel a dinner and use a 2 dinner for either Hoop or maybe Artist's Point in WL..

But this is a pain..now we have to get back on the phone for hours with ADR's again..:scared1:

I wonder if Air Canada would liek to reimburse us for time lost - doubt it..

Anyways just a warning ..CAA is right up on this by getting notifications and follows flights carefully ..if you booked on the internet or from other brick and mortar TA's they might not be..

Oh yea this is for December....

Thanks for the heads up - I usually fly out of BUF or DTW but I know people flying out of Toronto soon.... I'll give them a heads up.

When a flight is changed, the 'Bricks and Mortar' Agencies are also notified and will pass along the info to the Client. Notification will be provided even when the Air has been booked with a Consolidator (third party) and thus passed along.

To me, it makes perfect sense when there are multiple flights in one day and some are not at capacity, they amalgamate the loads. Good business sense that hopefully helps the Airline remain viable and keep flights at the most competitive pricing they can.

I know, when we lose time from our vacation it's a shame tho...In these times, not much anyone can do:confused3

Our return flight in December was cancelled last week. Fortunately we were able to get another flight...but it is a real milk run tho!

My families flight on Air Canada from Toronto - Orlando and our retrun flight from Tampa - Toronto is still on. I have been checking our reservation everyday on the Air Canada website, plus our flight to Orlando is this December and our return flight home is on New Years Day.

Travelling over the Holidays I would think it's a safe bet to presume those flights are full and will not be affected.

Well that was what I was thinking too. We are returning December 28 and got cancelled Tampa to Calgary. It appears a lot of direct flights are being affected. I have read on a few other dis forums with people having the exact same problem being put on milk runs. Honestly I can't blame them for trying to maximize the situation financially.

I believe I read that flights from Toronto and Montreal to Orlando or Tampa are not going to be effected, because both those cities are considered a major hubs for Air Canada. I just checked the Air Canada website for flights this December and for flights from Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Ottawa to Orlando or Tampa, they all required a connection in Toronto. Besides that Toronto has two direct flights each day to Orlando and Tampa each day, where as Montreal had one direct flight each day to those cities.

Yes-so far there are no plans to change the Toronto-Orlando flights..not sure about Montreal. I guess if the flights remain heavily booked they will stay unchanged.:confused3
