My mom is acualy from Gatineau,Quebec.
Yeh I never get offended by Canadian stereotypes or jokes...or the Family Guy episodes, I just think they are funny.
Some of them are kinda true!!!
I mean...my HS had a curling team!!
Basically every man on my street sits in their garage drinking beer & watching hockey!!
I put REAL maple syrup on; pancakes, waffles, ice cream, SNOW!! (sugar on snow if the greatest thing alive...and probably makes me sound like THE most canadian person ever..but seriously, have you guys ever had it--it's more of a Quebec thing I think though), certain types of cakes & pastries my mom makes.
I eat maple cookies, I live for those little maple candies that are in the shape of a maple leaf!!!!
But I think having different coloured money is a good idea. Any time I'm shopping the the States it always takes me sooo long to get my money out Because it take me forever to realize which bill is which!! lol
and i say bathroom....
my friend told me in the states you guys say 'restroom'??
true or false.
also..he said that when he was in Miami he asked for cutlery and they didn't know what that was?
...was it just that person, or do you guys not know what cutlery is?
Oh! And I use serviettes & sit on a chesterfield
(I live in the GTA as well....brampton to be exact...where do you guys live??)
I can only have the real maple syrup, the fake kind makes me sick.
But I LOVE maple syrup on snow!
I had it all the time when I went to Ottawa for Winterlude, and sometimes I did it myself at home =D

Yay Canada! Yes, I do say 'eh' on occasion (it's an incredibly useful expression. Like a swiss army knife. But a word. And Canadian.) I have seen wild moose and beaver. I have eaten moose meat, and caribou (caribou burgers are goooood.) But one thing I could never figure out is why people think we pronounce about 'aboot'. Has anyone ever really heard this? Is there a recording or any other evidence. Ok, I'll say it... a-bowt. Possibly even a-boat. Never a-boot. Besides, Americans pronounce roof 'ruf'. Thats funny too..... Man, I wish I had an accent.
One thing I've noticed in the Canadian language is that we freely intermingle American, English and Canadian phrases. For example, I call a bathroom a bathroom, toilet, restroom, washroom or a loo. A bathroom is generally a room with a toilet and a bath or shower in it, a toilet doesn't have a shower or bath, a restroom is a public washroom (sometimes with those fancy lounge areas), washroom is like restroom (though more general) and I say loo when it fits the lingo. And to confuse people.
Like how soda means stuff in bottles or on fountain, and pop generally refers to cans.
Or is that just me?
Anyway... Canada yeah!!! Edmonton is the greatest! WOOT!!!!
Of course, I live very close to it. I practically live there (well, as much as one can without being a mall rat). It's where I see movies, hang out with my friends, have parties, where I took correspondence and guitar lessens, and I'm going to get a job there in the summer (probably at pj's in the fish department or the new two story art supply store).Have you ever been to the Edmonton mall?
(I call it the mall, because after that mall, there are no other malls. And all the other malls in Edmonton sort of suck.) Of course, I live very close to it. Heh, yes, I would say I've been to WEM.(I call it the mall, because after that mall, there are no other malls. And all the other malls in Edmonton sort of suck.)
Have you even been to WEM?
I have not, i'm in Hamilton haha.
There's a waterpark right?
Id love to visit but it looks so expensive D:
Only North Americas largest indoor waterpark! (It used to be the biggest in the world until very recently, I believe.) And it's not that expensive.
There really is a lot to do at WEM. We've got the worlds largest indoor amusement park (Galaxyland), the World Waterpark, and indoor lagoon with a scale model of the Santa Maria, a sea lion show, undersea caverns, aquariums, and little bumper boat things, and indoor skating rink, skate park, several movie theaters (one featuring a life-size animatronic fire-breathing dragon, mini golf, glow in the dark golf, ect.
