I know there are lockers nearby to store your things. Do they make you take off your belt bag?

Thanks

I wear one to the parks and they make me take it off on the Mummy. There are free lockers next to the attraction. The lockers are free for a certain amount of time,it'll tell you for how long when you're there. The locker system scans your finger and gives you a locker number, when you return for your items you have to scan again and put your locker number,so don't forget it!!If you leave the items longer than the free time it'll cost you a couple of bucks to get the items.

If you forget your locker number, DON'T FRET! The system remembers your fingerprint and gives you the "forgot locker number?" option. Select that if you forget.

Just make sure you go to the correct rental station. All too often a person will try to use a rental station for lockers 101-199 (station 1) when their locker number in the 200s (station 2). Follow the instructions and you won't go wrong! :)

I wear a very small one and don't take it off for any of the rides.

I had one on during the Thanksgiving week and they never asked me to put it in the lockers. They just asked me to turn it sideways so it wouldn't impede the lapbar from coming down.

And they were being very diligent about screening people. One lady stomped over to the lockers when they told her to put a small shoulder bag - just big enough to hold a small wallet - into the lockers. However, they seem to be ok with small fanny/waist packs.

It's a Safety issue. Normal/standard hip packs are secure and will not interfere with the ride restraint, nor do they have the risk of becoming projectiles during the coaster sections (Spinning sections for MIB).

My wife had a small fanny pack on and there was no two ways about it! She lost her place in line and the quite unfriendly employee was not hearing any options other than "go to the locker" ... Don't risk it.

Sorry your wife had this experience.

I have ridden Mummy 75+ times since it has opened. Probably even more than that. I have had a fanny pack on every single time.

Not once yet have I been asked to put it in the lockers. I would say the risk is pretty minimal.

This probably has to do with employees not doing their job, when the ride first opened you couldn't get by the attendant outside without them telling you to go put it in a locker.Since that time I always just go and put it in a locker to avoid any issues. The employees are probably just not as strict as when the ride first opened and they let you through.

^^^^^^

INCORRECT. Management made policy changes which allowed hip packs. It's not the "TMs being less/more strict." I know, I was part of the opening crew and almost every day there was some sort of change.

I have a fanny pack that could hold enough supplies to get me through a week in the wilderness. I visit Universal weekly, ride the Mummy compulsively, and have never once been asked to take it off. They used to request that I turn it sideways, but by now I have been trained and just do that automatically.

What about MIB and Hulk, they used to allow them and one day they said to stick it in the locker, since then I've always put it in the locker. Can you use wear it on the ride?

I would just plan on the lockers since those two rides seem to be strictly enforced about the carry on stuff.

I've never any problems with the Bottomless Fanny Pack on either of those two rides.

Well I guess I can now answer my own question. I just came home today from Universal and I wore my fanny pack on the Mummy and I even asked first and they said no problem.

We were there last week and all they said was to spin it of to the side when you get in the ride. Never once was asked to put it in the locker in either park and it was a mid-size pack.

Well now I'm just miffed. It's obvious from these responses that they don't always (perhaps seldom) enforce this so why did we get picked on?:confused3
