Just wondered because at some amusement parks they do not allow you to ride with flip flops, around here in Ohio anyway. Is there any rules at Disney on what shoe you can wear on the rides? I was thinking of some type of comfortable crocs or some kind that wont fall off easily. Thanks for any information :cool1:

I basically only wear flip flops in the parks. The only ride where they ask you to take them off is Soarin'- that's just so they don't fall off and either fall onto the screen or onto guests below you. :headache: lol And personally, I love the feeling of the wind through my feet on that ride haha

There's no dress code for your feet :goodvibes

You aren't planning on going horseback riding at FW are you? If so, I think they ask you to wear shoes/boots.

Great !! I wanted something that wont make my feet sore tennis shoes alwasy do lol:banana: No im not going horse back riding lol. Thanks all !

Flip flops can be a bit of a trial at WDW. If you aren't accustomed to walking around on concrete all day in flip flops, you may be surprised at the result.

Consider finding a sandal with arch support. You can find flip flops with this or something like Keens may work work for you.

Whatever your choice, if you haven't taken the shoe for a good test drive, you might be disappointed with how your feet feel.

DD and I pretty much wear only flip flops in summer in the parks. Beware though, she did lose a flip flop on the Dinosaur attraction in AK. She had to walk with one bare foot almost all the way back to the park entrance to buy a pair of new ones. At park closing she waited around at guest relations and they found and returned her lost flip flop. Then we had a special VIP bus back to the resort all to ourselves. One of those unexpected things we still laugh about.

After a while walking in flip flops won't your feet hurt?

I wear Reef flip flops, and I don't have any problems. I alternate my eight-year-old girls' shoes. Some days they wear sneakers, other days flip flops. I bought them reefs also, but they still wore their Old Navy flip flops some days. (I don't own ON FF because I don't think I would find them comfortable.)

I think it depends on the individual.

How the heck did she lose a shoe on Dinosaur??? :rotfl:

As for me, I wear tennis shoes or Keens. For some reason, though, on our most recent trip, I got very bad blisters on both feet the first day of our trip when I was wearing my old, comfy tennies...which made no sense whatsoever...but I simply cannot wear flip-flops, except to the waterparks.

The only ride where you have to take certain footgear, such as flip-flops, off is Soarin'. But once you are in your seat you just slip them off and they will remain in place on the floor and will still be there when the ride ends.

yes you can wear flip flops, the only place you have to take them off is soarin because your hanging. disney doesnt have hanging crazy roller coasters like in ohio (im guessing your talking about cedar point) you can even keep them on RnR coaster because there is a floor under you.

I'll second the suggestion for Reef flip flops - just wore them in the parks for four days last week, and they were great. No problems on any of the rides - including SM, BTMRR, Splash, ToT, RnR, Everest, Test Track, etc.

thanks for the information. have a great day.:yay:

I wear my Old Navy flip flops everyday at WDW and don't have any issues--but I wear them everywhere at home during most of the year (except work, of course) so I'm pretty used to them.

It's practically all I wear - in fact this trip, it's all i'm taking!
To be honest, they're much cheaper than full shoes, so I can get a million different colours to match all my outfits - perfect! And the only people I wouldn't recommend sandals to are children and those under about 5' - some rides eg Rock n Roller Coaster go upside down and if you can't touch the floor you're sure to lose them, and children in strollers are sure to kick them off!
Enjoy your trip :)

Another vote for Reefs. I only wear flip flops but alternate throughout the week. I have a pair of Reefs, Rocket Dogs and Tevas. Never had an issue on any rides with them.
