Can you wear flip-flops? (Inspired by the expensive flip flop thread)

Do you think shoes with a thingie between the toes (flip flops or thongs) are comfortable?

Personally I've never been able to wear them -- the thingie that goes between my toes hurts me.

funny thing, when I was younger, I could only wear the cheapo rubber flip flops. Not any other kind, even sandals with the thingy between my toes.
Now I can wear any kind. But it does take a few days to get used to them.

No, they hurt so bad. I don't know how people wear them. I only wear them when I get a pedicure and even for that short time of walking to and from the car is painful. I prefer to wear sandals, with the band straight across.

I like them for the beach, pool etc. Don't know how people stand them for a whole day of walking though!

The most comfortable flip flops I have ever found are Havaianas. They are so soft on your feet. Target has some now, well Mossimo by Havaianas for about 4.99 in pink and white, blue and white and black and white.

Love flip flops, J. Crew makes some good ones too but I wait until they go on sale cause they are kind of expensive.

I can wear cloth ones that Kohl's used to sell. They made the bottoms thicker, though, and now I can't. Mine stems from my broken ankle, though - for some reason, flip flops bug the heck out of the ankle!

When I was younger, I couldn't wear them, but a few years ago I tried some again and now I wear them as often as I can!

Nope, can't wear them. I bought a pair for the beach last summer and ended up carrying them more than I wore them.

Yes, I wear them everyday since we live here in Hawaii. We can them slippers, and almost everyone who lives here owns them.

Love them. Grew up wearing them, so I'm used to it and I can wear it 24/7 if possible. My favorite is actually the cheapest, thinnest plastic kind. Feels like you're barefoot in them.

I used to wear flip flops all the time, but over the years my feet have gotten wider(because I love going barefoot) so now I can't find any that fit.

As a kid, but now, NO they HURT the area between my toes! Also, if the heel is lower than the front part of the shoe, it hurts my knees.

Yes, I'm wearing them now They are my "house slippers," a barrier to prevent feet from getting dirty, so no dirty feet get up on the furniture or into bed.

I can't wear regular flip flops with the thingy in the middle. I don't see how you all can wear them, that thing hurts my poor toes. I do enjoy my Mephisto sandals, which I wear every single day. They are so comfortable.

i love them...and i wear them as much as the freezing weather up here allows...i actually wore them today...even though my mom called me crazy...hey it was only pouring and 30 out...

I'm one of the people that can't wear them. They hurt so bad!! I bought a pair to take to WDW to go to the pool and I had to put the middle piece through my second toe instead of the first. My DD was embarrassed, but I only did that walking back to our room. I recently bought another pair that seems softer, so maybe these ones won't hurt as much as the regular ones.

I can wear them when I'm not walking long distances. Some are more comfortable than others and don't hurt me inbetween the toes, but I have a tendency to walk right out of them, so I don't wear them anywhere nice. Mainly just places like the beach or pool.
