Are you able to walk through Cinderella Castle after the opening show? It occurred to me that I've not tried to do this since the opening procedure changed. TIA!

Immediately, or just in general at some point that day?
I know you can at some point, but they'll close it again for the Friendship Faire stage show. I don't know how long it takes them to open it after the opening show. I've never tried to find out (we rarely bother to make rope drop these days)

Thanks! I meant right away (to make it to Peter Pan at rope drop). I never do rope drop myself anymore either, but I'm trying to help some friends. Thanks!

I thought of another question. During morning EMH, are we able to walk through Cinderella Castle to get to Fantasyland? I just wondered if it would be closed in preparation for the opening show? TIA!

Sometimes, you can.
If you are not the very first guests in the Hub, just look (across to the castle) and see at what the earlier guests are able to do.

Three Routes to Peter Pan.

Things are not always done the same way every day.
You must choose your route on the day-of, based on conditions that day.
The shortest route would be through the castle.
It usually IS open, but its not always open.
If the "through the castle route" (green) is closed, choose whichever of the others you prefer.
"West of the castle" path (blue) may be a bit shorter than the Liberty Square (orange) route,
but how the CMs open the ropes may affect which way you can go the earliest.

BTW, the Orange-colored path allows guests with strollers to drop them off before heading
to the ride.

Each time I've rope dropped MK since the new procedure I stand right at the castle rope.
They have always allowed us to walk through immediately following the opening show.
I feel that this route is best for me to get to PP at RD.
I'm always the first person at the rope though so that helps.

OMG we have been quite a few times since the castle show and I NEVER EVER knew they let you through the castle. We ALWAYS wait to the right of the castle, the same group that is trying to get to 7DMT but we want to go to PP and dont do 7D. So, reading this thread, I am wasting time, correct?

Thank you OP for this question and Robo for the maps and Queen for giving me this information!

Where exactly do I want to be in January to get to PP first and not do 7DMT?

Thank you.

It can change every day. (Depends on the CMs working.)
That is the point of the info and maps I posted.
You just need to make a choice of entry point (see the maps) and hope you’re right that day.

Thank you. But what is always a given? The side I have been standing on where all the 7DMT people are waiting...to the right of the castle?

We don’t appear to be communicating.
I didn’t say anything was “always a given.”
If fact, I was trying to convey that nothing was really a given.
If you want to head to PP, stand at one of the points in the Hub where my colored lines begin.

Thank you. I understood. I was saying that I would "think" a given, is to the right of the castle since it is always open at RD
and CMs walk people to 7DMT. I was wondering if any other points on the hub also are always open, like the one to the right of the castle.

The two lines at the entrance to Liberty Square will “always” be opened at rope drop, but one or the other may be “faster/earlier” than the other, depending on all the little things that can factor into exactly what the CMs may decide to do.
Also, at some point (may be at the exact same time as the lines I just mentioned,) the route through the castle should be opened. Might get delayed a bit. Might not.
