Hurricane Gabrielle threat ??

I know… too early to know if or how this storm will affect cruises in the eastern Caribbean. It’s not even a tropical depression yet let alone a hurricane. But the models are starting to move this thing into that area. We have the Treasure booked 9/13 - 9/20 (7 day eastern Caribbean).

I was on the 08/16 sailing and ended up with a Western itinerary (we found out the morning before embarkation).

Yeah I trust that they (cruise lines) will make the right decisions related to this storm. Hopefully it forms early and turns north away from civilization

I'll be cruising from Sept19 to Sept24 but in the Bahamas, could Disney relocate that elsewhere just like they usually do for Eastern/Western cruises ?

depends on where a storm goes, I remember one hurricane just PARKING over the bahamas once.....

Yep! HOTHS cruise I have a 5night at WDW before our cruise.
Hopefully everything will be OK, it is still 15 days away.

It really is…. This storm is modeled to be tracked for quite a while. It’s a real slow moving storm

I'll be cruising from Sept19 to Sept24 but in the Bahamas, could Disney relocate that elsewhere just like they usually do for Eastern/Western cruises ?

Yes, Disney could send the ship in a direction away from the storm, which could involve changing or just skipping ports.

I'd make sure that any private excursions and pre/post cruse plans you've booked have a good cancellation policy and that you know how to find information about using any travel insurance you have, in case your arrival or departure dates change. (Once the storm has been officially named, it will be too late to purchase travel insurance if you don't already have it.) Other than that, there's nothing you need to do -- just hope the storm stays away from the path of the ship, and know that the ship will change course if it doesn't.

I’m on this cruise as well and I have been watching this wave for the last few days too. I am more concerned about it coming up the East Coast while we’re on the cruise and what will happen on land while we’re gone. I’m trying to plan for that aspect. I trust the cruise line 100%. We have cats that people will be watching, but unfortunately they can’t take the cats with them if something comes ashore. Looking at an alternate plan to get my cats to a friend before we leave … she lives six hours south inland from me.

Understand… and those concerns, as well as the impact to the communities it affects, is way more important than what happens to a cruise itinerary. See you aboard

I don't have any excursions and i got travel insurance (cancellation) through my employer and my credit card. But i'm more concerned about a shortened cruise since we only have our OKL room on a certain date. I've never asked that question before even though i'm used to cruise during hurricane season

@Matrix21 & @Disnsyncey - I am also on the Magic Sept 19- 24th (and the Wish prior). Im keeping an eye on it but not worried yet. We have sailed during a hurricane with DCL and felt very safe (we were rerouted). Its a 5 night so technically it could go to Cozumel but would depend on port space

Use iMessage and WhatsApp and if something changes have someone book a hotel for you while you are sailing but I doubt it is shortened. Normally we reroute or it is fully cancelled (I know of 2 wish sailings that were cancelled when the Wish couldn't dock safely and was extended out to sea) but its rare for a cancellation
