Wondering if anyone has walked the DL 5k Family Fun Run?

We want to enter the 5k Fun Run as a family but we are not all runners so thinking we might walk the distance together. The rule say you have to run a 16min per mile pace or you get picked up and dropped off. Wondering if that is true or whether they let you walk the distance?

TIA

That pace is a steady quick walk. About 4 miles an hour. Can you keep walking briskly for 45 minutes?

Anyone in reasonably good shape should be able to walk a 5k in 50 minutes.

You'll probably find that its no problem, especially for the kids.

I usually run the 5Ks, but last year I walked it with my sister. We crossed the finish line around 52 minutes or so, but that didn't include the amount of time that it took to cross the start line. There were a lot of people still behind us. They're usually crazy strict on the time period, it usually won't start until the last person crosses the start line and they usually alot for the bottle necking when you're entering the park and some tight places backstage.

As long as you're not going really slow, taking you time etc., and keeping up with the crowd, you should be fine.

It's a ton of fun too! :goodvibes

DS and I did it last year -- you can totally stroll the whole thing. It was so crowded in certain places that unless you're at the front of the pack, there's no way you could "run". People were lined up 20 deep to take character pictures and mile marker pictures, not in a hurry at all. I can do a regular 5K in about 32 minutes, but we finished the Disney one in about 50 min or so (we jog-walked as DS was 9 years old at the time), but from the looks of it, there were MANY people that must have taken 90 minutes+ to finish it. It's a fun event, but definitely a "FUN run", not a race. :thumbsup2
