So this will be our first visit staying offsite. We really want to get to TSMM first thing one morning. I know that the entrance to CA through GCH puts you closest to the right line to get there first.

Since we're not staying onsite, if we were to have bfast @ WWS that morning, could we use that entrance if we show our receipt or something?

Well, I have heard mixed views on this. But I don't think you will be able to that early in the morning.

First of all, I like your choice to try to do the early line thing by GRR to get to TSMM first.:thumbsup2 Even though there are some DIS-ers who are doubtful of this tactic because they think it wastes too much time, we didn't find that to be the case and we beat a bunch of people onto TSMM who came in from the main gate. It's not always fool proof, as the CMs guarding the line by GRR may sometimes let you walk to TSMM earlier than 10:00 a.m. and get in the TSMM queue, and some are by-the-book and only want you to walk at 10:00 a.m. exactly. We got there before a bunch of people and we didn't have to wait and waste a lot of time at all, so it was very worth it in our case.

Now, from what I hear, when you go through the GCH entrance to DCA in the afternoon, you don't need to show anything other than your Hopper or AP. Early in the morning, before DCA opens, they are supposed to require that you show your Hopper or AP and room key to prove you are a guest at one of the three hotels. And if you are not staying onsite, then you would be out of luck at that entrance (though you could still go into DCA through the main entrance at 9:30 a.m. and walk to the line by GRR). However, I recall reading a post or two on the DIS about some people who ate at either Storytellers or Whitewater Snacks and they showed their receipts and got into the GCH/DCA entrance. So it may work for you, but I wouldn't count on it. But again, you can still get in the line by GRR. You just have to take the long way and walk through the main entry of DCA and walk over to it.

I have read in the past, that the CM's at the GCH private entrance gate will only allow an off-site guest admittance first thing in the am with a Storyteller's receipt. I have read that other guests have tried WWS receipts and been denied. Not sure if this is still the case, but that is what I have read in the past.

We have stayed at the GCH a few times and have used the GCH entrance in to DCA. When we use the entrance first thing in the morning they always ask to see our room key (to make sure we are staying at the GCH). But later on in the day they don't. I have never seen anyone presenting receipts, so I don't know if that will work or not. They do have a sign posted at that entrance in the morning that says it is for Disney Hotel guests only. Good luck, it sure is convienent!

Thanks for the link, HydroGuy.

Come to think about it, they only asked for our DLH key in the AM too.
Hmm...I still have our key from our Feb visit, perhaps I should just bring that?

We went to WWS on a weekend morning (Sat or Sun) and there were none of the hot breakfast items available yet. We were trying to do what you want to --eat before the park opens. Seems that the "good" breakfast items aren't available that early. Also, we were staying at the GCH, so we got in. But we were held up behind a family who didn't understand that they needed to be staying at one of the on-site hotels. It was kind of awkward and uncomfortable for everyone there. :rolleyes1 I didn't see anyone show their receipt to get through, I have, however, heard through others on the DIS that a storytellers receipt can work. Might want to verify with someone else who has...

Also, we have stayed offsite way more than on-site and we just make sure we're the first to line up outside the regular gates. We "walk with purpose" towards GRR while many kind of wander and head to Sourin'. Through this method we still have been very close to the front of the TSMM line! :cool1: And you'd have to be at least 50 ppl back to notice any kind of "wait" once you get to the ride. Once you get there, its just a constant slow walk through the queing area. In usually isn't backed up at all until after we get off the ride (a good 6-7 minutes later).

My DD9 and I just had lunch at WWS yesterday. We've probably had lunch at WWS about 8-9 times in the last year. We've never had to show a receipt to re-enter, however, a few weeks back (Aug. 16) when AP who had been blocked out were allowed back that day (it was packed!) we did see a family trying to enter DCA through GC denied entrance. This was at lunchtime. I made sure I had my receipt ready, just in case, but weren't asked to show it.

We've never done breakfast there but it looks like it may not be possible. I would enter DCA 1/2 before it opens and wait over by Grizzly. That should get you there quickly enough.

FYI-we rode TSM yesterday using Single Rider Line. We almost always do. DD enjoys telling whoever she rides with all her secrets. The wait for regular line was close to 50-55 min. Single rider line was pretty long (closed when we first got there) but still only took about 10 min.

I'm looking forward to going to WDW in 4 days and being able to get a FP for TSM. I hear they run out early in the day so I guess we'll have to grab one early.

What is the quickest way to get to TSMM if entering through the front gates of CA?

I'm assuming you're talking about any other time than pre-opening right??

Straight through Sunshine Plaza and head toward the back of the park. Turn left at the Pier bridge, pass Ariel's, down the hill past Screamin . . . TSMM is on your left.

No no no...I know where it is LOL!

I do mean pre-opening!

We finally got to ride it on our last visit and fell in love. This next visit will be much shorter and we're trying to plan ahead in case it's super busy.

Pre opening walk past Soarin' (grab a FP on your way by) and then keep walking towards GRR, they hold the line there.
