Can you use someone else's meals on the dining plan?

My mother doesn't eat very much because of health reasons, just once a day typically. If my parents got the dining plan, could my dad use the other meals on her plan to say get breakfast and so on. Can they track to one person. How are recorded, i.e. do you have a card or tickets and are is your name on it.

From my understanding if they're in the same room their dinning credits will be 'linked' on their KTTW card. Meaning if your dad went up and ordered breakfast the credits for that breakfast would just come out of the "pooled" credits on the card. They won't know whos is whos...unless it's a matter of adult vs child credits. In other words your parents would have 2 TS, 2 CS and 2 snack credits to use EACH day....no matter how or who uses them. :thumbsup2

Credits are indeed available to anyone registered in the same hotel room (really, on the same reservation). They are not tied to individuals within a room.

If they are staying in the same room, they are both on the reservation (atleast they are supposed to be...) so both have to be on the dining plan. To answer your question- no, they cannot track who is using the meals. You use your room key to pay for the meals and that room key has your name on it. There wouldn't be a problem getting a counter service meal, but you might encounter problems at a table service restaurant if your waiter notices that your Dad ordered the appetizer, dinner & dessert but your Mom didn't, and her name is on the card. From what I've seen though, the waiters either don't notice/don't care.

Absolutely not a problem, since they are both on the same plan. We do this all the time with CS meals--dh will use one CS for breakfast and one for lunch, while the kids and I just have snacks or breakfast bars in the morning (gotta get to those am EMH's!) and share the other two CS meals for lunch.

I've also heard that it usually isn't a problem at TS meals to use one ddp credit while the other person pays OOP for just an entree. You'd have to ask each server whether this would be allowed, but I don't think it would be a problem most of the time.

Hope they have a great time!
