Hi,
I am looking at a motel near the main parking structure, but it seems a bit far to walk to the park. Can we hop on a shuttle in the parking structure to get to the park? Is that allowed?

Thanks,
kali

Yes, but the question is, CAN you get in there from your motel without walking just as far as you would walk to the parks? Find out the walkway you would take before trying it...

ooh...thanks. I hadn't thought of that.

I checked Googlemaps. Looks like the entrance to the parking area is off of W. Ball on a street called S W Pl. That is close to the motel that I'm looking at.

The motel is near the corner of W. Ball and S Disneyland dr. That's a pretty far walk from the entrance isn't it? We don't want to walk more than 1/2 mile since we have a 6 year old in tow.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

I'd check for a hotel shuttle, or see if the ART goes to your hotel -- I'd be really surprised if there was a hotel near the resort that didn't have some kind of park transportation.

You won't be able to walk into/through Mickey and Friends to get to the tram plaza, so your only option would be to walk all the way around towards the DTD/DLH parking entrance to Magic Way, and then through the back end of the parking lot to the tram plaza, which would be really far...and that's assuming that there are sidewalks or pedestrian routes that go that way, which I'm not sure that there are. Even if you could do it, it would be a really long walk.

Thanks Tinkerbelt,
That's exactly what I wanted to know.

The motel that I'm looking at doesn't have its own shuttle. I called them and they said to use ART for $3/person.

I may take a chance and use Hotwire instead.

THanks again everyone for your replies!

I've stayed at the Tropicana Inn in the past. Fair pricing and one of the closest to the Disneyland entrance. It's on Harbor JUST across the street. That is my 2 cents... :)

dewdrinker19 is right about the Tropicana. There are actually quite a few good motels right across the street from the entrance on Harbor Blvd....Park Place Inn, Park Vue Inn, Tropicana, Carousel Inn, The Camelot Inn, Desert Inn & Suites and the Candy Cane are a few.

The Holiday Inn on Ball Rd. & Walnut is near the parking structure. Plus, you can walk down Walnut towards Downtown Disney and take the trams to Disneyland park entrances.

My DH and I live next to the DLR and would walk from our house to the parking structure and would take parking lot tram to the parks. No big deal.

Are you staying at the Days Inn by chance? If so you may think about changing to the days inn & suites at 1111 Harbor. I found them to be a bit cheaper & they do have a shuttle. This is where we usually stay, when the hotels accross get too pricey.
