Can you use RAC service if you aren't using DME back to the airport?

So, we have DME on our reservation. Our departing flight is late, 6pm. We may spend the afternoon with my parents (they live nearby) and have them take us to the airport instead of DME.

Can we use the Resort Airline Checkin service to check our bags once we check out at 11 and then have my parents take us to the airport, or would we need to return to the resort to use DME. We are planning to do the Caryola Experience at the Florida Mall which is right near the airport so coming back would not make sense.

Yes you can. It's independent of DME.

Yes, BUT, only some airlines participate. So while you can use it, since as PP said, it has nothing at all to do with ME, you can use it only if you are on a participating airline. It's only about 6 or so.

We are on Southwest. It's a participating airline.
