Can you use other pools?

If you are a DVC member can you use the pools at the other Disney resorts?

We are going to be going to Disneyland in November and I'd like to take my son to the new monorail pool, but we will be staying at the VGC (if our wait list comes through) Will our key allow us access?

Also do you know how tall kids need to be to go on the monorail slides?

I don't believe that pool hopping is an option in California.

Michael is correct as usual. No pool hopping at DL. None.

Guess they have changed since 2005 then since we were able to use all the pools when we were there. We stayed at GC and DLH and also used the PP pool one day.

When we went to DL in 2006, they had a gate around the pool at the Grand Californian and you had to be a guest there to enter the pool. They were very strict on letting only guests at the specific resort use the pool.

I guess the only upside of not getting a room at VGC will be staying at the DLH and getting to use their pool.

Pardon me for tagging along on your topic, but from the title I thought it might answer a question I have been wondering about.

I know as DVC member we can pool-hop at other DVC resorts (with certain restrictions), but what about at other non-DVC Disney resorts?? If I am staying at Boardwalk, and have friends staying at Port Orleans, can I go over to their pool? I know they can't come to mine.

Just curious....I have seen it mention elsewhere on the boards where families have done this and I didn't know whether it was allowed, or just not noticed.

DVC members "staying on points" are allowed pool hopping privileges, so yes, if you are staying at BWV on points, you can go swim at Port Orleans.

Thanks for the info. I had always assumed the hopping was limited to the other DVC resorts. We've never gone "hopping" other than the time we were there an OKW's pool was being renovated so Saratoga was offered up as an alternate

When you check in to your DVC resort, you'll get a copy of Portable Perks which will have the pool hopping info listed in it.
