Can you use DVC points for non-DVC rooms?

Thanks to all of you who have answered my questions so far. We're planning to rent points for a studio at AKV in January. However, I just noticed that some regular rooms at the AKL have a Queen bed and a set of bunk beds. That set-up would be ideal for my family, but we can't afford the rack rate for AKL. Can you rent points for non-DVC rooms and would it be worth it? If so, how many points per night in January?

You can't use points for AKL rooms, only AKV rooms.

Just like at BW, you cannot use points for BWI rooms. Or you cannot use points for BC rooms. Or you cannot use points for WL rooms.

If a DVC resort is attached to the resort, you can only use points for DVC rooms.

You can use points at all the moderates (not a good use of points - more expensive) and at YC, GF, Polynesian, CR.
