Can you use a Site that isn't already listed?

What is the policy on using a site that isn't on the list (for instance, one of the other WS pavilions)? Is it allowed? If so, would it be custom only, or would that depend on the site?

The best way to find out is usually to ask Disney. It certainly has happened that brides have found new places for ceremony or receptions that perhaps DFTW just didn't think of. Go ahead and ask. The worst they can do is say no!

Thanks Equidae. I'm just doing some preliminary questions. We're not really in planning mode yet so I haven't talked to the FTW people at all. I was just wondering if someone already knew from experience.

Canada. The area at the top of the pavilion with the French Canadian buildings. It's small and there's a noise issue with the waterfall, but it's special to us and we just wanted to know if it was possible.

I don't see why not, if there is room enough for the people you are having.

Intimate brides are limited to ceremony sites listed, though.

I think they should make the gazebo at POR a wedding site. I didn't know it existed until recently, but it would be a perfect place for an intimate! I listed that as a suggestion on my after wedding survey!

I was in your mode for almost two years...aka he wouldn't nail down a date and propose for that long...i talked to the ftw people anyway. I just kept telling them "my" date each time until dh finally picked one and then I was off and running...

We were originally looking to have our ceremony in the world showcase of Epcot. We were told by our SM Kristi Davis, that we can have it just about anywhere in the world showcase and they are very flexible within each country. You have to have an early wedding though... you have to be finished by 10am or 10:30am (I can't remember which) because the world showcase opens at 11 a.m. Hope that helps.

Sorry, I didn't clarify what I meant in my post. We had our wedding reception at Spaceship Earth which is not a location listed on their site. While it is true we were under unusual circumstances (our original location became unavailable several days prior to our wedding) I did request SSE as a new location and DFTW was very accommodating. I have heard of brides using unlisted locations in the past and if it can be done DFTW usually will do it. HTH!

Other brides have asked about using that gazebo and have been told no. Apparently its in a main traffic area of the resort and there isn't a way for DFTW to keep your ceremony private and let guests get around the resort.

My feeling is that aside from limitations w / custom vs. intimate, if you're willing to pay for it, they'll make it happen!!!
