I know it's in the member guide, but thought someone here might save me throuble of searching for it:)

I know you can bank transferred points, just wondering about the opposite.

TIA

No, banked points can not be transferred.

Yes. You can only transfer points from the current use year, no banked or borrowed points may be transferred.

Correct. Below is the Break Down on Transferring Points which was directly taken out of the Disney Guide Book.

- Current Policies limit Vacation Point-transfer transaction to one transfer per Member or Membership, either as a transferee or transferrer, during a giving Use Year.

- Reservation Points cannot be transferred.

- Members can transfer Home Resort Vacation POints to another Member that does not have the same Home Resort Vacation Points. The Vacation POints retain the Use Year and Home Resort Priority of the Membership they were transferred from.

-Transferring is a FINAL transaction. Once Vacation POints have been transferred, they may not be returned to the transferring Member

- All transferred Vacation Points expire a the end of the transferring Member's Use Year.

- Transferred Vacation points cannot be Banked.

-Banked or Borrowed Vacation Points may not be transferred.

-Members are prohibited from receiving compensations for engaging in any transferring of Vacation Points.

- Vacation Points can be transferred only if both contracts are in "good" status and all fees are payments are current.

I have some questions regarding this, as it contradicts info I received from another member. So, I cannot seek a transfer from another member who has the same home resort as me? I wanted to find some points to extend a stay at my home resort, booking 11 months out, but the first item you typed here seems to say that I cannot do that. True?

Second, I was told by another member that once you receive transferred points, you are free to use them however you wish, including banking them for a future year if within the banking window of the transferring account. Obviously, that does not fit with the rule you just typed there. Where in the Guide did you find this information?

Thanks for any help!

As many Disney policies, this is kind of ambiguous. I think it means that you can transfer poits whether or not the receiving member has the same home resort. As in, it is not required that both members have the same home resort.

Member services has allowed transferred points to be banked after being received, as long as they weren't promotional (developers) points.

I have had Member Services bank transferred points on several occasions, as long as the points were still within the banking timeframe.

Thanks for that confirmation, y'all. I will need to get the transfer in time to book 11 months out, so they will need to be banked into my next use year. I'm relieved to know that we can indeed do this! =)

What the first statement is saying is that you are allowed to take a transfer from ANY member, even if they do not have the same home resort as you. But, if you want points from your home resort so that you can combine them with your own at the 11 month window, you are allowed to do this. If you get non-home resort points, then you can only use them with your own at the 7 month mark.

Once you get a transfer of points, they retain their home resort and UY and you are allowed to bank them, if they are still within the banking window.

For example, if you get points with a Feb UY, even if you have a June UY, you will have until September 30th to bank those points.
