Sabal Palms, Horizons and Wyndham Palms.

Here's who going: DH, DD 7, DS 6, my parents and me :)
We're thinking of going the end of Nov / early Dec. next year.

We plan on spending our time between Univeral Studios / IOA and WDW Parks with a few down (resort) days. We will be renting a van.

Looking for a 2 bedroom with full kitchen/washer & dryer. Place with a great pool area and stuff to do for the kids.

Are these 3 priced approx. the same?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I visited the Wyndham Palms Resorts last month and it was really nice. The living space was plentiful and their grounds was beautiful. The pictures on their website are accurate, the rooms look just like that. If you golf this is the place to be. The only complaint I had was everything on campus is so far away from each other. From our room we actually had to drive to the pools. But for some people its a plus because you don't hear the children playing at the playgrounds and pools. Other than that it was fine. It was so nice that I almost bought a timeshare. If you want a timeshare promotion you can stay their for 5 days (i believe) for $299. Check their website http://www.thepalmsresort.com/

the Sabal Palms is a Marriott - so it is my better than the others you mentioned (my opinion).

of course since you have children - maybe the Horizons might be better for your family - (this is also a Marriott) - they have a swimming pool that is a big hit with kids.

they all have 2-bedrooms.

price wise

Sabal Palms (highest)
Horizons
Wyndham Palms

We stayed at Horizons in January for a week and will be returning next week. We have 2 DD 4 and 7 who LOVE LOVE LOVE the pool areas...so much so that they wanted to stay there instead of going to the MK. The pool areas are great for kids and adults...the villas are nicely laid out in a Key West theme. We have stayed at the Marriott Grande Vista a few times and prefer Horizons.

Well you might want to join Marriott Rewards, they have an exclusive rate now through December 18th of:

$145 a night Cypress Harbour
$137 a night Grande Vista
$137 a night Sabal Palms
$137 a night Royal Palms

all are 2 bedroom villa rates, and now through the end of January if you pay with your visa card, you earn DOUBLE POINTS!:bounce:

These are pretty good rates, considering that Hotelkingdom has the Wyndham Resort sold out for most December dates.

Thanks

Hello Madscrapper:

What SPECIFICALLY is it about the Horizons Villas Pool that makes it such a hit with the kids.....zero entry? fountains? bubbling areas from below?

I'm interested in why anyone would prefer Horizons over Grande Vista (not having seen either one) because in theory isn't Horizons supposed to be more "budget" oriented than the other Marriott villas? It's a little surprising to hear that you prefer Horizons....am I "all wet"?

Thanks for your help?

The pool at Horizons is zero entry and it has a pirate ship with slides and water canons on it. There is a pool side bar that serves light meals and drinks. It has an activity room with video games, air hockey etc... There is a decent exercise room. Horizons also has a water playground and a small regular playground.
As far as being the budget place, at this point it is usually more expensive to stay there than at Grand Vista. I didn't stay at GV, but I did tour it and it is beautiful. I stayed at Cypress Harbour, and really liked it there. They had a lot of activities for the kids, the pools were very nice, and the villa was beautiful.
