Can you take pictures during Fantasmic?

They do allow you to take pictures, we took some but they didn't turn out to well, to dark. We were using 400 speed film so maybe an 800 speed or up would do better, digital camera might work better, don't think my brother took any with his so I don't have anything to compare too. I do know that last year we started videoing it and shut it off after a few minutes because we thought it would be to dark, when we watched it later it showed up great. Videoed it this year but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

They ask that you not take flash pictures, for the safety of the performers, but just like every other attraction that advises that, idiots take flash photos anyway. It always cracks me up, because you know they all get home and have a perfectly illuminated photo of the back of the heads of the people in front of them, with a blurry dark image of the show behind. LOL!

So yes, you can take photos. You can even video tape it if you want, although I've tried and it's very difficult to get nice shots from a night show. You really do need a tripod and to set the shutter speed very slow or light setting to low light. The video is especially tough since the stage is so large -- I hate to move the camera around too much and it's almost impossible to catch the whole show without doing that.

Thanks. I need to figure out how to purposely turn the flash off on my camera since it's automatic. I know in the dark it's probably hard but I will try.

We have Fantasmic Dinner so we'll be sitting towards the right of the theater, but I was wondering can you pick if you want to sit in the front, middle, back.. or it depends what time you show up and just get in line with the rest of the dinner package guests and they sit you where they sit you ? What's better front or back or it doesn' tmatter?

One thing I've seen people do with those one-time-use cameras is to put a bit of electrical tape over the flash. It still goes off, but it doesn't illuminate anything as the light is blocked. You could also try blocking the flash with your fingers or a piece of cloth or something.

We've done the Fantasmic dinner package several times and no, you won't have the option of sitting elsewhere in the theater. Even if you did, it would probably be full by the time you get there (which is the point of the package - not having to get there so early). You will be able to sit wherever there is space in that section. If you get there 30-45 minutes before the start of the show you should have a nice selection. We've never had a bad seat in that area (or any other for that matter) but our personal preference is to sit higher rather than lower -- like the top third of the theater. You have a great vantage point to see everything and you are one of the first to exit when the show is over.

Thanks. I know I had to stay in that section I didn't know if they just let you in and you can pick any seat in that section or they line everyone up and just pretty much tell you where to sit.

You can sit where you want, but you'll have more choice the earlier you arrive. Toward the start of the show the CMs will ask people to slide all the way toward the center of the theater to make more room on the ends, but otherwise you can sit in any open seat in any row. Enjoy!
