Hi all, just wanted to know if we can take babywipes in our hand luggage. After looking on virgin atlantic.com and the BAA'S website i cannot find a definite answer regarding babywipes!. please help? :thumbsup2

We did on our return home on Tuesday so I would say yes, although I cannot quote any official confirmation as such.

They must have some special scanning equipment because we had medicine and a prescription in our hand luggage yet were not asked to open our bag, I actually mentioned it to the security people myself in case the scan had not picked it up for some reason, they said they did pick it up so guess they can tell what is allowed and what is not - the baby wipes got through with no problems also.

I got back from Florida and Spain a couple of days ago and the answer is "With some airlines." I flew with Ryanair (n/a to Florida) and Virgin. And you can.

I was thinking about this yesterday and do they come under non-consumable toiletries?

Hope so cause don't know how i'd change my DS's nappy! Lol!

Will still carry them on with us anyway and see what happens.

Even if they didn't allow them in your hand luggage surely they would have to provide them onboard.

Has anyone carried them on their flight out of the UK to the US?

Karina

Just been to France with BA and wipes were not a problem. As I understand it, essential babycare items (nappies, wipes, milk) are ok subject to checks.

The only items that caused concern for us were DD's plastic/metal cutlery set. On both journeys these were thoroughly scrutenised by security and referred to a supervisor for the ok. This has never been a problem before the increased security measures.

No, but a woman next to me on the plane comming from the UK to the US was pampering her baby with some.. so I guess Yeh..

How about childrens toys? I have looked at the list and no mention of it. :confused3

I usually take things like plasticine, colouring books and pens and pencils. I have also got some modelling kits to make things.

Any ideas?

On our recent trip to France, we had crayons and pens for DD, no problem, and hand luggage was thoroughly checked.

Hi

How about PSP's? I dont think my dh would be able to cope without it as he has a fear of flying. I was going to take my laptop, but I dont think I trust it going in hold and we can email using our PSP so this should not be a problem. More so we can contact our relatives for free. I spose we could use internet cafes.

I have to say I am pleased with the new guidelines, but I feel for mums and children. I do not know how my kids will be able to cope with no colouring or myself for that I love colouring. We are not travelling till next year so it wont effect us I dont think anyway.

Definately yes. Basically everything's back allowed now. You can buy perfumes on the planes again, but does anyone know whether you can buy them from duty free anymore?
