on board an airplane? Just wondering if I can do this? We are using DME and I don't know how long it will be before we get our luggage...so I am planning on just going on to the parks after we check in, but I will need a sippy cup for my 3 yo DS? Can I take an empty one on board?

I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem.

Yes, you can. We did this in August less than a week after the new no liquid rule.

I read somewhere that you can take an empty cup and ask after you board for the stewardess to fill it with juice or water. Breastmilk and formula are the only liquids allowed on board.

Empty cups are okay. We took a sippy cup on SW on the way to WDW 8/23 and had the flight attendant fill it with ice water on board. FYI - SW does not have milk, only juice, coffee, soda and water plus alcoholic beverages.

YUP!
We did this on the plane as well... it's easier to avoid spills using the sippys, so we just pour their drinks into the cups...
No problems through security just LAST WEEK!

I have one in the carryone and one packed in the suitcase. I know dd will not do well in AK where the drinks have no straws or lids..so have it just in case.

yep, not a problem. I took my kids sippy cups on the plane filled with water and no one asked me anything.
