It's just downgrading costs, right?

Everything I've read says Disney normally only charges you a fee if you downgrade. I'm sure Disney reserves the right of course, but most people report no fees for upgrading.

If you book a room only ressie and then add dining/tickets does it stay the same? or is it a cancel/rebook?

They canceled mine and rebooked when I added tickets to the room only ressie. Had to do a new deposit and they credited the old one back in a few days. Also told me now I have up to 3 days prior to add dining if I want.
