Last time I was at LeCellier, we were raving over our cheese soup and our waitress mentioned that you could go up to the podium at lunch time and ask for cheese soup and pretzel bread to go, no ADR needed. Has anyone done this lately? Will they still do it?

This wasn't recent - it was Dec. 2004, but we learned a couple of things when we did it:

The CM at the podium has to get approval because a server actually comes out to take your order. If it's busy, they won't do it.

Since the server takes your order, there should be a gratuity.

It's one of there signatures they will always have it.

The OP wants to know if they still allow you to order it to go at the podium. :)

Skwinkles - maybe you could add "to go" to your post title?

we went in March and went to do the same thing~!
(great minds REALLY think alike!)

BUT we arrived at 6:30 pm and were told that if we wanted it to go, we needed to do so before 6 pm.

WAAHHHH! And they didn't have any open ressies ofcourse, so we didn't get our favorite soup and bread!!!!! WAH!

SO, go early in the day and yes, you can still get it to go!
:teeth:

We were there this week (Wed) and had planned to have 'soup to go' for lunch. We were told they only do this now during the Food and
Wine Festival when they set up a kiosk outside the restaurant.

We did not have an ADR but since it was only 11:30 they gave us a table inside and we had the cheese soup, breads, and spilt the mixed greens salad. It was wonderful! :cool1:
