Can you stay at Paradise Pier Hotel and use the pool at DLH?

Hmm the walt disney world pool rules do not let anyone but there guest in ( they check there Key to the world cards) Wait does Disneyland have a key to the world card type of thing?

We've stayed onsite 5 times and our key cards have only worked at our hotel pool. We did check out of curiousity. If there is some sort of pool contruction/maintenance and the your pool is closed, then you are allowed access to other DLR hotel pools.

I have only heard that you can use it if your pool is closed for some reason. Otherwise if they always let you pool hop one pool may become very crowded, overly so, and guests of that hotel wouldn't be able to use it. Which would be upsetting.

If you want to use the pool at the Disneyland Hotel, why don't you just book there instead of Paradise Pier?

No, you can't pool hop between the resorts. Only if the PP pool is closed will you be allowed to pool hop. And yes, DL does now have KttW like they do at WDW.

Thanks everyone, I'm just trying to weigh up between what hotel to book. I have a nine year old daughter and I'm thinking that I should book the Disneyland Hotel because the pool area looks so much better than the paradise pier and my daughter would love that
I wouldn't want to try and use the DLH pool when I wasn't allowed, I'd be sooo embarassed!

when you book, be sure to ask if the pool is open! I forgot to check when we went in January, and we were disappointed to find the pool closed for maintenance.

Back when I was planning our Sept 2007 trip, the disneyland site clearly stated that PPH and DLH guests could use each other's pool, but they couldn't use the GCH pool.

And my stepmom, who had stayed at PPH several times, stated that they often used the DLH pool.

But at some point before our '07 trip, that wording disappeared from the disneyland website, and it's now a policy that you can only use your pool (unless your pool is closed entirely and they tell you otherwise).

just to keep in mind, i would rate the slide at PP to be the best on property, especially for weak swimmers. Also during the cool months it is nice to be able to slide without getting into the cold pool!

Molly that totally used to be the case. I used to see that onthe sitetoo. And the cm's used to tell us that at check in. Now they do key the room keys specifically to each hotel pool. Too bad, my kids love the slide at PPH, but the pool itself is so lackluster and I miss the grounds of the DLH so I stick with that. So no more "extra" rides down that PP slide for them!

Yes, you can. As long as you are staying at a DLR hotel, you can go to all the pools. We did that about a year ago.

ot to say that you are wrong or the CM I spoke with this am, but she said No. So good luck. Why would I pay the GC rates and not others, but be able to use the GC pool???

I agree with jack. Not to be rude but when I stay at GCH I want only other hotel guests there. Not friends of guests but paying guests only. And even then it can get crowded

I have seen CMs checking people's Resort ID at the DLH pool. And people who couldn't produce the flimsy piece of paper were asked to leave. One family clearly followed another family through the gate and were busted immediately. It was kind of like an extra show that day.

I asked this question yesterday when booking at PP and the reservationist clearly said NO.
