Can you split TS meals on the dining plan?

We are a party of 4 (2 adults 2 kids). I believe the kids have to order off the kids menu at table service locations, correct? Also, are the Table Service credits "pooled" like like the quick service plan or are they broken out in adult and child credits?

Wondering if hubby and I could share a meal and let kids get there own?

TIA!

TS credits are split Adult/Child.

You can share most places.

But if you and DH share and kids get their own, you're going to have leftover adult credits and no child credits. What are you thinking of doing with the extra credits?

Good question, I see your point! Logic is not my strong suit, I thought I might have been on to something :) We were on the quick service plan and soon realized that the portions were large and that we could easily share meals. Next trip I'm doing the regular dining plan, but want to do 3 TS meals that will require 2 credits, so trying to stretch our credits.

We are staying 10 nights. That would give us 20 Adult TS, 20 Kid TS and 40 QS credits.
This is what I was thinking assuming we can get our reservations:

Sat - Arrival day - 4 QS (Dinner at food court)
Sun - MK 3QS (BOG Lunch) ; 4TS (1900 Park Fare Dinner)
Mon - EP 8TS (Lunch Candlelight Package) ; 3QS (Mexican Quick Service)
Tue - AK 4 TS (Lunch Tusker House) ; 1QS+snack credits (Yak and Yeti Local) Hoping we will be full from lunch
Wed - HS 4TS (Lunch at Hollywood and Vine) ; 2QS and snack credits (Dinner ?)
Thu - MK 3QS (Columbia Harbor House Lunch) ; 8TS (Hoop Dee Doo)
Fri - EP 4 QS (Sunshine Seasons) ; 4 QS (Dinner ?)
Sat - AK - 3QS (Lunch Flame Tree BBQ) ; 3QS (Dinner at food court)
Sun - EP 3QS (Tangerine Cafe); MK 8TS (Cinderella's Royal Table)
Mon - MK 3QS (Lunch at BOG) ; 4TS (Ohana Dinner)
Tue - Going home 4QS (Lunch at food court)

Not that you asked but if you eat at the food court you can get a large pizza, 2 drinks and 2 desserts for 2 quick service meal credits. It's plenty for the four of us. We just use our refillable mugs as well since we have to get it in the food court anyways.

If you order room service it is more.

I had no idea. What a great suggestion thank you so much for mentioning it!

DH and I used to split some CS meals and he is a hungry guy! We did not do this to stretch our credits, although that was a benefit, but because we like three meals, but did not want to roll through the parks.

Depending on the meal, you will be able to split at TS as well at times. If you do this a few time you will have a few TS credits to use at signature meals. Pay for the kids OOP once or twice if it makes sense, depending on the restaurant, and you will have a few for signature meals for them as well.

You can split meals, but not at Via Napoli, or at buffets or AYCE, dinner shows, fixed price restaurants or special meal packages (Fantasmic/Candlelight Processional).

I really like sharing meals, TS and QS. Usually we order an appetizer (OOP) and ask that it be brought out with the meals, than my daughter and I split both. The meals are really big most places.

Your plans look great!

I might suggest that one night you take your extra TS credits you save from sharing and you and your husband use them for a solo dinner. Drop the kids at one of the childcare centers. The centers will feed the children (it comes with the childcare fee) and you and your husband can use your extra TS credits.

Has anyone had any problem sharing any place other than Via Napoli? We usually travel as a party of 4 and it is not unusual for us to order two appetizers, an entree, and a few desserts. If we could use two credits to do something like this it might make the dining plan an attractive option for us. I just don't want to plan out all my credits and then be told we can't redeem fewer credits than we have people in our party. I know Via Napoli is a no no, but anywhere else give folks trouble?
