Can you split the $500 gift card into 4 cards?

I am traveling with another mom and her teenage son, sharing a room, and we will be getting the $500 gift card. Can we actually get 4 cards so that we each have one? I asked in an on-line chat while I was booking my package - they said ask the resort. The CM on the resort phone said - "it says one gift card", ask when you get there. We're coming from Canada, so it means getting more US cash and trading it around if we can't get 4 cards - knowing in advance would be helpful!

My initial thought is no, because you can't purchase more GC with the $500 GC. Meaning, you can't go to a store, buy 3 more GC for $125/each and pay with the original GC. I'm not sure how else you could split it up.

Could you possibly use the $500 gc for group incidentals (like tips, dining or snacks, etc) and maybe use any cash you would bring to purchase other GC for each person in the party?

I wouldn't hold my breath but I would just ask at check in. Tell them you are hoping each person can have their own card. They may do it. It really wouldn't be a big deal IMO but strangely Disney never seems to listen to my opinions!

Use your KTTW card to charge your expenses to your room and then pay off your room charges with the gift card.

That's the way I would do it. The room bill WILL tell you which card charged what.

thanks for the KTTW strategy = that helps a lot! I'll still ask for separate keys, but I had forgotten about being able to use the gift card at checkout. Problem solved by the dis-board community again!

Another option would be to go to the World of Disney store when you arrive and buy the individual giftcards and charge it to your room (and apply the $500 giftcard to your bill at check-out). That way each person would have their own card to use and when it's gone, it's gone.

That is the best way to do it.

I traveled with two companions last year. We were assigned person no. 1, no. 2, and no. 3. They printed a full list for me, and then a list for just person no. 2 and no. 3 - which I used for them to reimburse me at the end of the trip.

Just watch your limit. We were in a deluxe and my limit was $1,500.00. When I got the list the day we checked out - we had actually hit our limit the day before and my card was already charged for the first $1,500.00. You may want to check in with the concierge desk every couple of days and just use the gift card to pay off an amount that you want to use, based on the list that you receive at the concierge desk.

No need to ask for separate keys. Each member gets it's own KTTW card. Each gets printed with the persons name and has the tickets for the person and any dining information (if you bought the dining plan). You can have charging privileges or not on each card - you decide.

You can however decide on no charging privs for the kids, then you can purchase gift cards, charge it to the room, and apply the $500 GC to the room bill. You can do all of this at check-in.

You 'might' be able to get set limits on each of the KTTW for the kids - not sure though.
